Our school is situated in Walton in the North of Liverpool. We were founded in 1927 by Florence Elizabeth Melly who dedicated her life to serving education in Liverpool. At Florence Melly Community Primary, we are committed to providing inspirational and innovative teaching and the highest quality learning experiences for all our pupils.
We aim to create an environment which promotes curiosity, a love and thirst for learning and empower our children to become independent, lifelong learners. Our children are the 'jewels in our crown' and we ensure every child is valued, challenged and encouraged to achieve their full potential.

Services
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Governing Body for entrusting me to lead our outstanding school. I am honoured to take on this role and fulfil a lifelong dream of mine. I am delighted that my first taste of headship is at Florence Melly Community Primary School - a place extremely close to my heart.
All enquiries are to be made, in the first instance, to Mrs Kane, our Business Manager. Mrs Kane will be happy to deal with initial queries from parents/carers and any other members of the public. The Stagecoach services 19 or X3 from Liverpool City Centre to Kirby Civic Centre, disembarking at the Walton Hall Park bus stop, is the closest stop.
Florence Melly Community Primary School is committed to safeguarding children and promoting children's welfare and expects all staff, governors, volunteers and visitors to share this commitment and maintain a vigilant and safe environment. Everyone has a responsibility to act, without delay, to protect children by reporting anything that might suggest a child is being abused or neglected.
A large amount of a child's time is spent sitting in a school classroom. A classroom is a place where they will learn the various skills deemed necessary and proper for them to achieve success in the global society. The classroom is where they will gain an understanding of their place in the world and the gifts that they have to offer it.
At Florence Melly Community Primary School, we recognise that access to school Twitter accounts (and future emerging social media networks) gives pupils, staff and parents greater opportunities to learn, engage, communicate, and develop skills that will prepare us for work, life, and citizenship.
We believe that a school Twitter account is an excellent way for you to stay up-to-date with what has been happening in school on a daily basis and as a way of informing you of future events. It is also a great way of helping our pupils develop 21st-Century technology and communication skills and informing them how to be cyber safe.
