My name is Cathy Cartwright and I am a Solution Focused Hypnotherapist, Hypnotherapy Supervisor and Senior Lecturer for CPHT. I am based in Rochdale, Greater Manchester. I hold the Hypnotherapy Practitioner Diploma, considered to be the gold standard in Hypnotherapy training. The HPD covers many approaches to hypnotherapy and is accredited by the NCFE.
Hypnotherapy is a natural and gentle treatment that can help with a range of emotional, physical and psychological problems. It's quite normal for people to experience 'safe levels' of stress and anxiety from time to time in their lives, for example when doing a test or delivering a speech.

However, when people worry or feel stressed and behave in an excessively fearful or uneasy way, chronic levels of stress are created that can result in a state of increased anxiety.When this becomes too much for us to cope with, the quality of our lives can be significantly compromised and the enjoyment sapped away.
I offer an initial consultation which lasts between 45 and 75 minutes. This gives you the opportunity to ask me any questions and for me to provide you with information about the therapy and sessions. I will take some general and health details that will allow us to form an individual treatment plan for your needs.
It may surprise you to know that hypnosis is quite natural. It is a state of trance that we enter many times a day e.g. when we are driving a car, watching television, reading or whilst out for a run. It is a state of focused awareness rather than a sleep state. It is where the conscious mind and the subconscious mind can be aligned with the client's goals.
