We know how important it is to be able to go out with the whole family and here at The Mayfield we have everything you need. We offer a relaxed, friendly environment with a spacious recently refurbished family dining room including a free to use indoor playroom with climbing frame, slide and large screens showing kids TV (currently not available).
Our versatile Function room is tastefully decorated in a contemporary design and can be transformed to match the theme of your special day. Our events coordinator is on hand to arrange decorations and extra touches, including chair covers and saches in an assortment of colours, and we can supply lots of extras including cake stand and knife.

We went twice at the weekend, one for the comedy and curry night and another for a Carvery.
The Comedy and Curry night - the comedy was brill but the food was disappointing, much like a ready meal curry and wasn't much of it.
The Carvery - this was beautiful! Good selection of meats and got loads, even on the medium plate. Plenty of veg choices. The Yorkshire puds are so nice! Would definitely recommend for Carvery. Oh and great price for Carvery too!!

Whilst the food was ok, we experienced quite disrespectful behaviour and rubbish customer service I am afraid. Some of the staff were openly discussing hotel guests after being on the phone to them! 😠 we were served a glass for our cider that was terribly dirty too. Unlike their sister pub The Copper Horse, which we found lovely where nothing was too much trouble. I hate putting negative reviews but think this lack of professional behaviour should be addressed. Sorry 😞

Pub with a seating both inside and outside. A traditional pub in a small village. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Locals we're canny. The evening we visited they were short staffed (?) so waited about 55 minutes for food.
Burger was good quality- made for the pub by a local butchers. Other food was unremarkable, if a bit lacking. Small soft play area for young children. A few ales on tap were tried -good quality ruby. Some cocktails were on tap, and reports were not great on these. Worth a visit if in the area overall.

Waited over an hour for our food then when it finally arrived they had somehow forgot to cook one of them we were offered an alternative which was very poor , didn't even offer a free drink or a discount … rubbish customer service won't be returning, once the novelty of going out again as passed for everyone this place will struggle unless things change.
