Wonderful! Fantastic! Superb! Visited on Saturday afternoon with the family. The mushroom soup with chestnut and sage pesto was inspired; the pinnacle of deliciousness and a true 'chef's kiss' dish. Hearty, door-wedge sandwiches. Super sticky toffee pudding. Perfect espresso. The pub interior is also beautiful and the staff are nothing short of seasoned professionals. Thank you for a sublime lunctime xxxx

For those of you that go away with your dogs know what it’s like finding dog friendly places to eat. Some advertise themselves as dog friendly only to be told on arrival it’s in the garden only - tad chilly this time of year in the evening! We have found some amazing places to eat in Norrh Yorkshire and people have been friendly, helpful and… welcoming. But this place, by far, has blown us away. We are only a 2 minute walk away so came back again tonight and it did not disappoint. Not only are the staff great, the menu amazing and the portions generous but Freddie is very welcome

Excellent stay, check in was easy with welcoming staff. Room whilst small is very well done, with everything you would expect for a deluxe including Dyson cooler which given the unseasonal temp was appreciated. Its a busy pub/ bistro with great menu and food quality. The breakfast was excellent as well.

Lovely food, I had roast sirloin with all the trimmings and my partner had steak and red wine pie, both were excellent, well cooked and served with lovely fresh vegetables. We were too full to try the desserts but they looked good too.

Loved it. A really top class place. Everything was good. The premises have been fitted out to a very high standard that applies in the bar, restaurant and the accommodation (well, the room we stayed in, at least). The staff were all very helpful, friendly and welcoming. And we really enjoyed the meal we had too. We will go again.

A beautiful place, not one I’ve tried before. The food is excellent and well presented. I would highly recommend. It’s a little noisy and rowdy, you can’t hear your dining friends speak, some call it atmosphere. Not sure I would agree, but that said, great food.

Really good food cooked well with good ingredients the wine was unusually good. Nice staff and a pleasant atmosphere. We hadn't booked and they were full so we had a drink. After a while the maitre d told us they had a cancellation and we got our table. One tiny change I would make is seasoning, I found the food a little too salty. Whilst I like well seasoned food some don't, and you can add salt at the table, otherwise a big thumbs up to everyone there.

Good village cafe with lots to choose from. I got the chocolate mocha, and it came with a complimentary piece of flapjack.
