Tamworth Sailing Club is a very friendly and welcoming club situated on the banks of a 45 acre lake within the picturesque Kingsbury Water Park. For relaxed sailors we have social sailing just for the fun of it, we have a thriving junior section, and for the more competitive dinghy sailor we hold regular weekend races for a variety of club trophies.

Sailing experience is not necessary as we offer RYA training courses designed to introduce you to sailing in a safe, supportive and enjoyable way. Sailing is something that individuals, couples, or all the family can take part in and we have regular sailors from 8 to 80+. Pop along to the clubhouse on a sailing day and speak to us to find out more.
Services
Learning to sail is a bit like learning to drive a car or motorbike which starts with formal instruction under the close supervision of an instructor. Once you pass your test you are deemed safe to continue learning on your own and the more you pratice the more experience you gain under lots of different conditions.
We are a community amateur sports club run by its members for its members and by joining you are agreeing to do your bit to help run what is then your sailing club. Before you make the decision about joining please come along to the club and speak to our existing members. There are usually several committee members around during sailing days each weekend and we would be delighted to see you.
Social sailors - Many of our members enjoy relaxed social sailing which can take place on any sailing day. During the week our members are responsible for their own safety and they manage this by arranging to be at the club in groups hence why we call it social sailing. At the weekend social sailors must keep clear of any boat involved in racing, but it is a large lake and there is room for all of us to enjoy sailing.
Super Sailors is our fun junior's club which runs from 9am to about midday each sailing Saturday from Spring, through Summer, into Autumn. Under the guidance of an RYA qualified Senior Instructor, the focus is to have fun and gain confidence on the water whilst improving sailing skills. We accept youngsters from the age of 8 to 16 years.
Club racing is held on either a Saturday or Sunday each weekend for a variety of club trophies. Racing at our club is very friendly and we encourage members to join in with any of the races if they fancy having a go. In addition the first race each Saturday is specifically for Beginners and Improvers.

Great. 7 yo old daughter was there for Saturday sailors. First time in charge of a boat sailing herself. I did my first race with her as crew looking after the jib. Great fun. Didn't come last :)

Friendly, professional and totally supportive to beginners. I had never sailed before and just wanted to give it a go. I then became a nervous sailor as I realised there was so much to it and lacked confidence. However, they put 110% into making me feel able and before long I had a certificate and I was sailing! A wonderful feeling indeed. Highly recommend for getting out there and socialising with a really friendly bunch of people.
