Services
Come and join our family friendly, sailing, windsurfing and SUP club, in the heart of the East Midlands!. Burton Sailing Club (BSC) have been in existence for over 100 years (founded 1902). Initially based on the river in Burton upon Trent we now enjoy the excellent sailing facilities at Foremark reservoir amidst the dramatic Derbyshire countryside, in the heart of the National Forest.
We have the following boats that are used for training and for general hire by members on a first come first served basis. Members who have completed the RYA Dinghy Level 2 course will be issued with six vouchers for half-day hire of the above boats/boards, which can be redeemed any time during the current calendar year.
Unfortunately our open days have been put on hold for a while but individuals and families are invited to get in touch to arrange a visit. Discover all you need to know to get you and your family out on the water to experience the thrill of sailing and windsurfing!. Whether you are an experienced sailor or a complete novice, you will be assured a very warm welcome!.
We aim to race every Sunday at BSC, but we do travel to open events on a regular basis. We are always looking out for new members to join the class and will assist existing or potential club members if they wish to try out the class or are looking to buy a boat. The class is truly international being sailed in 18 different countries throughout the globe.
The Contender is the World's most popular single hander trapeze boat and Burton Sailing Club's has a very keen, competitive and growing fleet in this class. The dinghy was originally designed in 1967 and like other one design classes has benefited from strict control over design changes. The dinghy is a very exciting and rewarding boat to sail.

Came on two super RYA courses and liked the friendly, welcoming, can-do atmosphere and great facilities so much we joined, despite it not being the closest club by a good distance.

Started sailing with BSC in April this year with my son and we have had such a fantastic summer. The RYA Level 1 and 2 course was very good value for money and the knowledge that these people have and want to share is phenomenal. They were very, very patient with me, nothing was too much trouble, and it was a pleasure to see my son (age 10) be completely independent and sail around the reservoir with confidence, but under the watchful eyes of the safety boat crew. If you are looking for a new family past time, then this is the place to be. Carl even started a Saturday morning club so that we could
