SP Pilates Studio
Group Pilates classes with foam rollers, weighted balls, hoops and other small equipment in your area. I also have my own dedicated Pilates Studio at The Therapy Centre, Iceni Court (near to Norwich Airport) and I teach one-to-one personal training at my studio. Joseph Pilates developed his system of exercise to encourage his clients to live a healthy lifestyle.

He placed great emphasis on deep breathing and exercising regularly. Over the years the Pilates method has become the preferred exercise programme for those people who enjoy exercising their mind as well as their body. I'm currently training with CPM Pilates (Contrology Pilates Method) in a method called Spatial Medicine.
Services
I'm very interested in the close relationship between the mind/body experience and our emotional feelings; and, from this, how we perceive our everyday life. When we experience anxiety and restlessness in our minds, this can often reflect within our bodies and is then felt as pain. I practice meditation daily which enhances the quality of my life and work.
Pilates Spatial Medicine is studying the importance of the Myofascial connective web of tissue that holds us together. Fascia is a specialised system of the body that has an appearance similar to a spiders web. Fascia is a very densely woven covering which interpenetrates every muscle, bone, nerve artery and vein.
You will be doing a mixture of mobility, flexibility and strength exercises. This after a period of time will give you longer leaner muscles, an improved posture, help flatten your tummy and tone your thighs. It also strengthens your deep tummy muscles that help support your spine. Also working with the rhythmic flow of your breathing pattern helps calm and relaxes your mind.
Working in the studio is much more hands on. After giving you a full postural assessment I will then put together a Pilates programme suited to your own body shape and posture. This will be using a mixture of studio equipment the Reformer, Cadillac and also a mixture of matwork exercises. I can also create a small programme for you to practice at home, this will greatly enhance the Reformer exercises used in the studio.

I have been doing Pilates with Sheryl Prendergast for over 4 years, I have a one hour session of one-to-one Pilates Reformer training every week. Sheryl developed a personal programme for me that helped strengthen my back muscles and greatly improved my general posture core strength and flexibility. When I started I had no core strength and found the simplest exercise chalanging. With the Pilates sessions practicing at home and concentration on improving my core strength during my daily life I believe it has improved my general posture strength and overall well being. I am fairly flexible in certain
