All playing members are encouraged to make themselves available for the various teams that we have competing in leagues and competitions throughout the season in order to maximise the Club's ability to be successful in bowls associations' competitive fixtures. However, it is acknowledged, particularly for new bowlers, that confidence, as well as ability, plays a big part in competetive bowling.
To provide match practise opportunities for all members, we run Club only competitions and tournaments throughout the season as well as Club "casual play" at least one evening each week when possible and sometimes on a Sunday morning. The Club also organises a number of friendly games with either local or travelling bowling clubs throughout the season.

Services
Verwood Bowling Club has, we believe, one of the best lawn green bowling facilities in Dorset. The Club ground with 6 rinks and purpose built clubhouse, on the edge of Ringwood Forest and Verwood Recreational Ground, is set in secluded and tranquil surroundings giving ideal conditions for playing bowls.
Like many games, the object of Bowls is essentially simple. It can be played by almost anyone, but to play consistently well demands determination concentration and practise. Players deliver their bowls alternatively from a mat at one end of the rink, towards a small white or yellow ball called a jack at the other end.
