Whether you're an experienced player or a complete beginner, we give everyone a warm, friendly welcome at Banister Park Bowling Club. Our facilities include two six-rink outdoor bowling greens and an eight-rink indoor bowls arena, and members do not pay any rink fees. We welcome members who want to play competitively or just want to play for fun, we cater for under 18s and offer coaching to schools.

We host a range of social events throughout the year, and our spacious function area, restaurant and bar is available for private hire. The Club is very pleased to announce Paul and Dee will be our new Club Steward and Caterer. Congratulations to the Banister Park Men's team who beat Littleton 98-61 to win the Ken Marsh Trophy.
Services
Banister Park Bowling Club has been established for over 100 years. We give a very warm welcome to everyone - whether you're a complete beginner or an experienced bowls player, whether you want to play competitively or just play for fun, or whether you're a new member or a visitor. We have over 400 members across a range of ages including a popular under 18s section.
We asked a few of our members to describe their experience of joining, playing bowls and socialising at Banister Park. Banister Park Bowling Club was a timely arrival for me! Having been a committed and active sportsman all my life, I was coming to the end of my direct participation in my two main sports of rowing and rugby.
Roll ups - when you first start to bowl you may wish to practise on your own or with friends - referred to as "Roll Ups". To play indoors you must make a rink reservation in advance. There's no need to pre-book a roll up if you're playing outside. When you feel ready to play with other members you can take part in our indoor or outdoor organised men's, ladies or mixed roll ups.
Club knock out competitions are an excellent way to begin to play competitive matches and these take place during the indoor and outdoor seasons.

The club pays affiliation fees to local and national bowling associations - English Indoor Bowling Association (EIBA), Hampshire Indoor Bowls Association (HIBA), London Southern Counties (LSC), Bowls England (BE), Bowls Hampshire (BH), Southampton and District Bowling (SDBA) and Women's Bowling Association (SDWBA), so that members can represent the club and also compete as individuals.
There is a full programme of club leagues to suit your requirements - morning / afternoon / evening, triples, rinks, ladies', mens' and mixed. Teams are entered at the end of each indoor season ready for the following season. Competitively, the club enters teams into the outdoor men's and women's Southampton & District Leagues.

I have been coming to Banister Park for many years. The bowling competitions are always first class to watch. We have also looked forward and enjoyed lunch. Until last Friday. Unfortunately the new menu did not include a hot Vegetarian option. Where have the Jacket Potatoes gone? I did not find the current steward at all helpful. Thank God for M/S just up the road. They saved the day for several of us. Hopefully by the time we return next season things will have been sorted.
