Services
Mackenzie School's Adult School is located at their stunning 18th century converted former church building. It is recently refurbished and absolutely pristine, featuring a large common area for relaxing and socialising, and smart, well-equipped classrooms. There are tea and coffee facilities and a kitchen area onsite.
Mackenzie School Young Learner Programmes are for students between the ages of 12 and 17 years old. We provide Summer and year-round homestay programmes based at our stunning iconic 18th century converted church building in Leith, and a summer residential programme at Merchiston Castle, a prestigious boarding school campus.

My three weeks at Mackenzie were amazing!
Teachers and staff are wonderful – always helpful, cheerful and funny.
The classes are not nearly as theoretical as back in school. Most of the time we were discussing interesting topics or working together in groups. This way everyone was able to practise speaking a lot, wich – in my opinion – is the most effective way to improve your language skills.
I'd definitely recommend going to Mackenzie. If I get the chance, I will come back again! :)

If you are thinking of visiting Edinburgh to improve your English, combine it with the lessons at Mackenzie School of English to make the most out of it! I've studied here at Mackenzie school early summer for a month and the experience could not been better. Friendly staff and dynamic classroom atmosphere are some keys for being successful in your goals with English. I'd strongly recommend you to go, also if you have special needs or requirements they will do their best to find a proper solution as they did in my case. So helpful! Not to mention Edinburgh city and surroundings is a wonderful place to staying in. Greetings from Spain guys! ☺️

We were in Mackenzie School for two weeks last month. Teachers and staff are so great!. It was a wonderful experience. Good methodology, I lost the embarrassment whith my oral english and improved my listening so fast! Magical Leith. Wonderful Edinburgh. I hope go back soon. Totaly in love with the city, and haggis! 🤣 whishing and thinking to move out seriosly despite the weather!

A great school, lovely staff, helpful teachers, very nice atmosphere where we met friends from around the world, top management are very friendly and I relay love to had conversation with them. the International Food Gathering was amazing and I wish if they will have in next time more variety in the customs, clothes & uniforms. I have never forgettable experience in the place and Scotland too and I rely like the place I hopefully return back to place every year just to be in their and keep in touch with Mackenzie school staff too.

I’ve been here with my 3 Italian students in August. We had a lovely experience, the staff is absolutely adorable, caring and helpful, the lessons were interesting and stimulating and we had tons of fun! The facility is really clean and well organised, we definitely would like to come back in the future! Great choice in every possible way 👍🏻

Nothing completed in this world.. in general I really like this school, they have an amazing tasking based learning.. my teacher Lida is wonderful.. the class little bit “hot and small for 12 students” .. foods activity was unique and exciting !! Choosing the host family and planning your pre arrival information is much appreciated and professionally arranged by the school. Private Taxi “not recommended as it’s too much expensive”. In my view, will visit this school if I have the chance to do it again.

I can't describe all the experiences felt in this school, but saying "I love it" runs short. Since the very first moment when one of the monitors came to the airport to collect me and the rest of my group all dressed up with the typical costume, the kilt, I started feeling so involved into the Scottish life. The school was great, I was surrounded by people from all over the world, which was so enriching!
