Yakety Yak is an Edinburgh-based language company, operating in both Edinburgh and Glasgow. We teach up to ten languages (French, Spanish, German, Italian, etc.) and provide tutors - who are native speakers - to help our clients learn and practice the language they're interested in learning.
The main way we help our clients learn is by running conversation groups, where our clients chat about their interests, whether that be films, literature, art, current affairs or even weekend news.Our tutors are there to help guide the conversation, correct grammar and teach new vocabulary. We also run one-to-one sessions, where our clients feel able to gain more confidence and boost their language skills even further.

Yakety Yak has been Edinburgh's home of language teaching since 2010. We at Yakety Yak believe that the best way to learn languages is to have normal, everyday conversations about the latest films, the books you've read, or your next holiday. We have to thank Fiona Gomes and Corinne Cervetti, the previous Managing Directors, for providing the range of languages we have on offer.
Yakety Yak Language Cafe offers a variety of options in all levels - from beginner to advanced - and all forms of classes from our usual conversation-based sessions to private tutoring. We understand our sessions might be a wee bit daunting for anyone who starts learning a foreign language or to anyone reluctant to join a group of learners.
This is where you get to practice your favourite language, outside of our classes! This lab will be dedicated to all the languages we offer but with emphasis on our 4 core languages: French, Spanish, Italian and German. On these pages you will find bits and pieces, which will help you acquire a greater understanding of your favourite language.
