The Quay Inn public house and restaurant is situated in a most picturesque location in Instow, with outstanding views of Appledore and Bideford - the perfect place to watch the sun go down. At the Quay you are assured a warm welcome from Landlords Steve and Maggie Dymond and the team who are a mix of youth and experience.

This cosy pub has a well-deserved reputation founded on good food, great beer and a fantastic atmosphere. It seats around 40 people with muddy boots and dogs welcome while the upstairs restaurant accommodates 50 people with amazing views across the estuary. Our food starts with fresh local ingredients which our Award Winning, chefs turn into tasty treats with a whole lot of flair, our doctrine is gate to plate and trawler to plate.

Fish & Chips (g, f, e, sd) - Beer battered fish & chips with tartare sauce, peas and a wedge of lemon. The Quay Burger (g, d, sd, e, m) - Double beef burger with bacon, mature cheddar cheese, ghurkin, tomato, mixed leaves, onion rings, house coleslaw and chunky chips. Lovely view of Torrington estuary and Bideford in the distance. Slightly more then I'd like to pay for a pint but it is a tourist place and possibly higher retas. So we'll worth the ONE.

We stooped off here for lunch last week and were greeted by a very pleasant and helpful owner and staff. My Hake and my wife's Shellfood stew were cooked to perfection, with an excellent presentation along with a perfect view from the window table across the Torridge. Highly recommended.

Good selection of local ales. Tarka lager was excellent and worthy of the 10 mile bike ride alone! £5 per pint is the cost of such amazing views across the quay!

We stopped at The Quay for breakfast whilst cycling along the Tarka Trail and it was cooked to perfection, delicious, lovely pub, very friendly staff, we will definitely be back again on our next visit and bike ride.

I really enjoyed my trip to The Quay. A contemporary but classic local pub/ restaurant. Good Beer and cider on tap and by the bottle, fantastic food and excellent, friendly service. It was a misty evening but the view from the seating wasn’t dampened by the rain. Thanks very much, a most enjoyable experience.

Popped in as a last minute hope of some food as booked place closed at the last minute due to staff shortages. Had the most beautiful roast pork followed by crumble and custard. Great food, great service and atmosphere all at a good price.

Fantastic food! Friendly and helpful staff. Would recommend booking as it was pretty busy on a Saturday evening. My partner and myself both had fish which was super fresh and beautifully cooked. Reasonably priced both for food and drinks. Lovely view.
