Hello, I am Beth and am the owner of Be Yoga. My love for yoga started over 30 years ago. I qualified as a British Wheel of Yoga teacher in 2000 and have taught locally for over 20 years. I take great care to provide my clients with a simple, friendly and approachable practice of yoga. I believe that real yoga is not about standing on your head and contorting yourself into knots.
Yoga is about finding your centre. It's a way of developing inner strength. Yoga is release - letting go and clearing away all the clutter that you are carrying. Yoga is a way of getting to know yourself through increased observation and awareness. It's an opportunity to be with yourself - honestly and tenderly.

The word yoga is derived from the Sanskrit word 'yuj ' meaning to 'yoke' or 'bind' and is often interpreted as 'union' of the body, mind, breath and spirit. Around 2000 years ago the Indian sage Patanjali is believed to have compiled the practice of yoga into a collection of statements or threads known as the Yoga Sutras.
Quite simply, I love yoga. I love how I feel while I am on my mat moving, how I feel while sitting in meditation and most significantly, I love how these feelings continue to resonate within me throughout each day. My teaching is rooted in the desire to share this joy with others.
My journey into yoga began over 30 years ago when as a busy (and rather worn out) fitness instructor I went along to a yoga class to try to bring back some balance into my life.I loved how I felt afterwards and continued to practice with a couple of different teachers. My passion for yoga grew and teaching seemed like the natural progression.

The British Wheel of Yoga is recognised by the Sports Council as the governing body for yoga in Great Britain. It is a non-profit making charity run by voluntary support. The British Wheel of Yoga's Teaching Diploma is recognised by all UK Education Authorities and also the Health Authorities that have incorporated Yoga into their rehabilitation programmes.
We need yoga now more than ever to maintain our calm, focus and find inner strength. The past year has been a challenge for us all with many people are noticing an increase in their stress levels. The beauty of a yoga practice is that as well as it's many physical benefits, it also helps us to be present and to process each moment as it unfolds.
It is very important that you join the call WITH AUDIO so that I can hear you and you can hear me. I willmute you everyone at the start of the class so that the sound will be super clear. You can unmute yourself during the practice if there is anything you are unsure about. You are also welcome to unmute yourself at the end of the class to give feedback.

Beth introduced me to yoga many years ago. Her approach is inclusive of all levels of experience. She adapts the practice to suit the individual giving options so everyone benefits. I can highly recommend her Restorative Yoga sessions that she runs regularly. From personal experience I can say her classes are calming and leads to a good nights sleep. In our busy world it is good to take time out - beneficial both physically and mentally.
