Services
We're passionate about the finest produce. It's in our roots! Here at Windy Arbour farm shop of Wigan, you'll find fantastic fresh produce, fruit and vegetables from local Lancashire farms alongside the best exotic produce from around the world. And what's more, its not just called fresh, it IS fresh.
Fruit & vegetables might be at the core of our business, but over the years we've grown our grocery range substantially and now boast a huge range of other foodie stuff to offer you the complete shopping experience!. K&J Green of Heskin is just 20 minutes from Windy Arbour. A 100-year old family butcher in the heart of Lancashire serving the finest cuts of meat in our shop since 2010.
Local Life Magazine's David Sudworth talks to us about the past, present & future of Windy Arbour Farm Shop, located on the border, between Wigan and St Helens. 1974 will go down as a tumultuous year - one in which ABBA burst onto the scene at Eurovision, the country was almost crippled by a three-day week and, for the first time ever, a humiliated England squad failed to qualify for the World Cup.
We've got a lot of loyal customers, some who've even been coming ever since Granny Turner first opened the door in 1974! So, we think its great to reward loyalty and having started in 2017, hundreds of customers have ammassed thousands of points and redeemed thousands of pounds worth of rewards.

Sadly, Swipii - our original card provider - have withdrawn the card system in favour of a one that, while very clever, is one we feel wouldn't suit our customers base.So. grab yourself one of our very own loyalty cards launching summer 2019! If you did hold a Swipii card, you'll see the similarity in how it works.
Windy Arbour Farm is home to a family run farm business dating back to the mid 1800s, and a shop that first traded in 1974. In the modern world, we found ourselves with some old buildings that weren't doing very much and needed putting to good use before they deteriorated. So we set about clearing and restoring them to create a hub of local interest that our own customers might be interested in.

Been coming to Windy Arbour for years, nothing is too much trouble for the lovely staff. They really did keep the whole community going throughout lockdown. My only complaint is that the Crumb items sell out so quickly!

Nice shop nice produce however amazing that they donā€™t except cash as virtually every other business is now accepting cash. I donā€™t see any logical reason as you can touch produce (as do the staff) etc and you have to touch the card machine ( for people without contactless cards) so probably wonā€™t return unless cash becomes an option. As I would imagine a lot of customers are elderly such as my mother in law who prefers to use cash itā€™s a strange decision as she was only able to buy something because I had brought my card.

Loved going to visit today as I had not been able to go for the last 18 months thanks to working long shifts at a hospital. It was like Christmas lots of lovely fruit and veg, also some gorgeous pastries as well. Also I’ve been wanting a Windy Arbour shopping bag for ages! Mission accomplished- Thank you so much

Brilliant. Friendly staff and local produce. The veggies are really tasty and I bought potatoes today from a farm I've walked past in Rainford! Definitely would recommend. Some produce is a little pricey but well worth it!
P.S. try the bread!

Makes you happy to see such variety and lovely team working there. Felt very welcome. Although the world at the moment is mad. We felt safe and happy to shop and enjoy. Will be back next week and telling all to shop here.
