There are pockets in the borough of Elmbridge where 25% of children and young people aged 0-16 are living in poverty 4. At Oasis our goal is to keep children out of the social care system and with their own families. To do this, we work closely with schools, GPs, Children's Services and the families themselves to find solutions to the problems people in our community face and provide services that address them.

Services
Oasis Children's Charity is a unique service providing support to families across Elmbridge. It was founded in 1996 by Caroline Edwards, who began her career in safeguarding children. At Oasis we believe every child has a right to security, love and a stable environment. Our aim is to keep vulnerable children out of the social care system and with their own families.
Oasis has been providing services to vulnerable children in the local area for 25 years. Like many charities, we continue to operate thanks to the help and support we receive from grant funding and from individuals like yourself. Our charity provides a lifeline to many children in our neighbourhood across all social circles.
At Oasis we have a variety of groups and courses that provide a safe and stimulating environment for children and their families. Because we believe there is no "cure all" for the families we work with, we combine our services and programmes to suit each family. We build trust with those who feel isolated and let down by the authorities, offering a place of safety and a team who will listen in times of difficulty.
Outreach can range from a simple chat about parenting skills to being involved in a family's child protection case - attending meetings, providing plans for families to follow, writing reports and in some cases attending court. Outreach forms a vital part of our work and is accessible to all of our clients, allowing us to identify problems and work out what actions and solutions are needed to avoid potentially catastrophic consequences.
We have a number of programmes for both adults and children, covering a range of subject areas. Teaching people how to not just cope but to "bounce back" when things are difficult. Participants learn how to deal with difficult situations in a positive way so they are happier, more confident and secure.

Oasis has taken care of our son, who has additional needs for the past 2 years, he has blossomed and grown with their care, they have also been incredibly helpful with getting us in touch with outside organisations for things such as carers help, diagnosis and other family related needs.
I can not find a single fault with their care, they have gone above and beyond the call of duty and I can not thank them enough.

Oasis child care centre are amazing. We send our child who has severe and complex needs, and the team there have been unbelievably amazing, patient, caring and wonderful. I honestly couldn't have asked for a more supportive and a better environment for my child, who nurture and tailor themselves to his childs needs. The staff are amazing, supportive and provide just as much help for us as parents as they do our child. Thank you so much.
