Butterflies Childcare provides a home from home environment, with friendly and supportive staff. We pride ourselves on excellent childcare at an affordable price giving our parents peace of mind whilst they get on with their busy lives. We are easily accessible being located just a two minute walk from Wimbledon train, tube, bus and tram stations making it easier for our busy parents to drop their children off whilst on their way to work.
We follow the Early Years foundation stage framework which is the recognised curriculum for children aged 0-5 years. Our Children learn by playing and exploring, being active, and through creative and critical thinking which takes place both indoors and outside. We encourage Transient Art and Loose Ends Play to stimulate your child's instinctive curiosity, exploration, and imaginative play.
Routine and structure are essential in a child's life and we follow a daily timetable to ensure that your child's routine is consistent. We provide breakfast, lunch and early dinner in addition to unlimited daily healthy snacks and drinks. We will of course accommodate any special dietary requirements or daily routines that you follow at home so that we can support your child by adopting their usual routine.
At Butterflies, the safety of our children is paramount and it is our policy that all our staff hold a current Paediatric First Aid Certificate and staff are required to attend an annual Paediatric First Aid refresher course.
Our Medicine and Sickness policy follow the requirements of the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage and the guidelines set out in the Managing Medicines in Schools and Early Years Settings recommendations.Your child must be well enough to attend nursery so that they can enjoy and participate in all activities both indoors and outdoors.

Should you wish to you enrol your child at Butterflies following your visit, we will ask you to pay a non-refundable enrolment fee of 150.00 to secure your place. My daughter has been attending butterflies since she was 8 months old, when I returned back to work from maternity leave. We felt incredibly comfortable leaving her with the staff who are all so loving and caring towards my daughter. She is now 2 and is still attending butterflies and she loves every minute of being at nursery, she can not say goodbye fast enough in the mornings before running in to play with her friends. The staff are really friendly and welcoming, my boys came here and settled in straight away , no tears , they were always well kept and so happy going in and coming out. Manager was lovely very welcoming when we visited like all the staff were and made an easy decision to have picked this nursery for our boys. They still talk about their nursery experiences even now.

Highly recommend! my daughter went to the pre school. She didn't have a single day of tears and bonded really well with her key workers and other staff. I was also very impressed with the quality of activities and attention to detail in the assessments etc. Definitely helped her feel confident and ready for big school!

Butterflies have been brilliant with my child. They was very informative and professional from the beginning when showing me around their lovely nursery. They kept me up to date with my child's development and arrange some lovely social events which included the parents. When my daughter moved buildings from the baby room to the big nursery the staff continued to update me and support my daughter in the move. What a pleasure! My son attended for 3 years before starting primary school and absolutely thrived, my daughter attended for 6 weeks between my maternity leave and us moving out of London and adored it. It was also great to see my son's friends siblings at the nursery, I wish we could have moved Butterflies with us! My son absolutely loves his key workers! He goes swimming once a week, he creates NASA rockets and monsters out of cardboard boxes, he does yoga and he loves his preschool friends. My child attended the nursery for 2 days a week, for a few months, just because I couldn't get the days at my Dundonald Road nursery of choice. The difference between these nurseries is striking, my child was crying in the morning and was also in tears in the evening before I got there.
