Not been here for years until today.
High quality, reasonably priced Italian restaurant.
Excellent menu with a £20 lunch menu and daily specials. Excellent wine list for every taste and pocket.
You can tell the food is made fresh.
Service was excellent.
Several notches above your average pizza and pasta place. Oh... No pizza.
Recommended.

Stumbled on this place online whilst looking for a restaurant to book in advance for lunch with a friend… the reviews were excellent so took a chance and booked a table. The reviews weren’t wrong!
Wonderful food in a lovely cosy setting, tucked up on a hill near the high street. We had the lunchtime set menu which was great value; portion size of the starter and the main was very generous.
The staff were welcoming and helpful - I would definitely eat here again ☺️

Our first visit to Olivo and we don't know why we haven't been before! The service was excellent, all staff are lovely and efficient. The food was incredible, we had 3 courses and I couldn't fault one! All portion sizes were very generous and so flavourful. The pasta sauce on my main course was the best sauce I've ever eaten. We can't wait to return again and try out more dishes from the menu, all which caught our eye when served to nearby tables.

I've been here on three occasions. The first was very good, the second was okay, the third was excellent. The food here is delicious and you won't struggle to find something to eat - in fact, you won't know what to choose! The service is very attentive; on the third visit we have a table of ten and the service didn't dip. The only bad experience was the second visit - they had clearly forgotten our booking, as when we walked in they all looked each other in confusion. Hence why we shoved in the corner of a side room. Despite that event, I would still recommend the restaurant

Service was amazing, and staff were very friendly. Welcomed us to the restaurant with a smile and were prompt at taking us to a table.
Ordered olives and garlic bread from the 'to begin' part of the menu, which were so-so. They didn't have much too them. Not very flavourful and most likely just a way of settling in to the atmosphere of the restaurant. Starters were expensive, approaching the price of the main meals therefore we didn't order one.
The main courses were incredible! We ordered a spaghetti bolognese and a ragu-piccante pizza. Both were full of flavour, and were

Quick glance:
+ fun selection of bread to start
+ reasonably priced lunch menu
+ Italian waiters
- a bit too salty on some dishes
- slightly tucked away location
Came to Olivo with another couple for lunch and were promptly led upstairs to an empty floor of dining tables except for one other couple on the other side. The couple was chatting away with the waiter in Italian, which I thought was a promising sign as there were Italians were eating in this Italian restaurant.
The waiter, who is Italian, was warm and welcoming, delivering a basket of different breads to whet everyone's appetite

There are many Italian restaurants in Guildford. None of them are outstanding, but Olivo is the best, in my opinion. I come a few times per year, usually when people are visiting, and I've always enjoyed the food. Unlike some Italian places in town (e.g. Jamie's Italian) there are some choices for vegetarians. The service is extremely variable. The waiting staff are usually quite surly, which is a bit annoying. Sometimes they are extremely unattentive, which is a real pain.

This is a really nice restaurant - probably one of the best in Guildford. There's a large menu and all the dishes are really nice so it's quite hard to choose! Lovely atmosphere and it's the ideal place to have a quiet dinner away from the weekend crowds. It's quite pricey but the service is good and the food it worth it!
