Toby Cottage is a beautiful 16th century oak-beamed building set in the lovely village of Ripley, just under four miles from both Woking and Guildford and a matter of minutes away from Junction 10 on the M25. Just a short note to say " A BIG THANK YOU " to you and all your staff for the lovely lunch you served today.
My family were all very impressed with your super roast beef as well as all the other courses - and of course the delicious cake. Originally built as a cottage, for many years the building housed an antique shop specializing in the sale of Toby Jugs, thus providing an obvious choice of name when it was converted into a restaurant in 1979.Since then it has earned a well-deserved reputation as one of the best restaurant's in Surrey.

We would like to extend a very warm welcome to all our customers, old and new, you are welcome to enjoy an aperitif in our cocktail bar while you choose from our English & Continental menu which is made with the finest fresh and seasonal produce available. We usually specialize in flamb cooking at your table but this is on hold at the moment.
A quick thank you for a wonderful time had by all of my family yesterday. The food and service were exceptional - especially in view of the tremendous pressure you, your staff and the kitchen must have been under, with such a plethora of large parties. But I had a lovely party with the champagne & menus.

13/12 service, food was amazing, building and atmosphere perfect, not sure of his actual name but gent with roots in tenerife was the exact example of ideal service and may have lost his tan but definitely not his smile. Thank you for a great night and also for the drambuie. You're a true legend. So overall, great night Xx

Sadly this was a disappointing experience. Online the menu looked fantastic but the reality was a tired, 70's dining experience (not in a retro way). The food was sub-standard. On a positive note the wine list was comprehensive and catered for all tastes and budgets. The waiter had a great sense of humour but unfortunately these pluses did not make up for the chef's lack of sophistication.

In an age when casual dining in Identikit eateries is virtually the norm, it is refreshing to find a family-owned restaurant that is still proudly offering classic cuisine and old-fashioned standards of service. All at a reasonable price. The Toby Cottage is one such rarity. Old favourites such as Deep Fried Whitebait, Beef Wellington and Herb Crusted Lamb feature large. The dessert trolley is impossible to resist. Remember Banofee Pie? Well, you won't find it done better anywhere else. A must-visit for those who go misty-eyed for crisp cotton table cloths, proper cutlery and an extensive, well

We found this restaurant while searching for something between Dover and London where Beef Wellington was served. Toby cottage did not disappoint! The gentlemen of the staff was dressed in sharp suits and tuxedos. So I was immediately worried about us strolling wearing casual travel clothes with 2 small children in tow. But the staff was completely warm, welcoming and charming. The Wellington was delicious! My husband enjoyed his steak and the kids devoured their salmon. They even went a step further to offer my kids homemade chips. When we left our waiter came outside after us and thanked us

The Toby Cottage in Ripley High street is a lovely place to dine for a special occasion. Its name originated from the fact that many years ago it sold Toby Jugs before becoming an antique shop and now a restaurant. We thought the food was top quality and there was a good choice on the menu. it was well presented and coked to perfection. However it is a little pricey and certainty we could not afford top eat here very often. It has a relaxed ambience and the service is very good. The staff are friendly with excellent hospitality skills. One word of caution there is an extensive wine list but the
