Services
Some travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge. This is because not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the NHS. If you are travelling to Europe the EU has published useful information for travellers on the European website.
If you are ill while away from home or if you are not registered with a doctor but need to see one you can receive emergency treatment from the local GP practice for 14 days. After 14 days you will need to register as a temporary or permanent patient. You can be registered as a temporary patient for up to three months.
The practice nurses are available by appointment only, Monday - Friday. The nurses have many skilled duties and our receptionists can advise you whether to make an appointment with the nurse or doctor with regards to these aspects of your care. Healthcare assistants support practice nurses with their daily work and carry out tasks such as phlebotomy (drawing blood), blood pressure measurement and new patient checks.
Storing information in one place makes it easier for healthcare staff to treat you in an emergency, or when your GP practice is closed. This information could make a difference to how a doctor decides to care for you, for example which medicines they choose to prescribe for you. No, it is not compulsory.
Having an ill child can be a very scary experience for parents. If you understand more about the illness it can help you to feel more in control. This booklet is for parents (and older children) and deals with common infections in children who are normally healthy. There is a good guide on the NHS website which describes various conditions affecting children.

In my opinion the Doctors need to stop hiding behind the receptionist and actually see some patients. I am disgusted with having to ring for days on end in a attempt to get a appointment. I do not want to have a diagnosis based on a photo, I want to see a Doctor. In my opinion they are using covid as a excuse for third rate care. You cant email them and you cant get them to answer the phone.

The worst surgery in Lancing where they can not back date fit notes and other surgery's can, this place is a joke and has a whole bunch of clowns inside just like a circus and being rude to every customer that walks through the doors, I moved away for this surgery because of this and Me and my family are very much better at our new surgery in Lancing, Any other Surgery in Lancing is a 100 times better then this complete junk of mess called the orchard surgery.

Shocking! I don’t live here, unfortunately my mum is a patient. The surgery has failed to treat her serious symptoms for the last 8 weeks. She hasn’t even been seen and has deteriorated. The rest of the country are seeing patients when they need to be seen, this surgery is still claiming “COVID”. Spoke to a robotic receptionist today with zero manners and no awareness of her duty of care as a member of NHS staff. Whatever the outcome now, my complaint will be going to the practice manager and CCG. We have lovely receptionists where I live and I’ve never experienced such rudeness. Adding

I have recently moved to Lancing from Oxford and registered with The Orchard Surgery. i have got to say that compared to my old surgery in Oxford The Orchard is absolutely amazing.
The reception staff are always so helpful, always so cheerful and nothing is to much trouble, the ease of getting an appointment is second to none, the doctors are brilliant, attentive and caring, all in all a really good service, i cannot recommend this surgery highly enough.
