Stebon is a happy and growing three-form entry primary school serving a multicultural, predominantly Bangladeshi community near Canary Wharf in the East End of London. Our pupils are at the heart of everything we do. They are happy, friendly & well-behaved & they love learning. They achieve results in all subjects that meet or exceed the national average & do it all with a smile on their face.
Every Saturday, the children get the chance to come to school and take part in some inspiring and exciting activities, as part of Shine @ Stebon - our wonderful Saturday school. Activities include drama, cooking, sports, computing, Minecraft, maths, geography, computer research, teambuilding and plenty of trips around London.
Pupils in Reception - Yr 6 can sign up to take part in a variety of after school clubs each term. We run a wide variety of clubs including; swimming, sports, cooking, homework, karate and drama. We want every child at Stebon to start the day with everything they need in order to learn effectively; a fundamental element of this is a healthy, filling breakfast.
Michael Keating - Chair - Michael has served Tower Hamlets for many years. The considerable local knowledge and understanding he has is an asset to our Governing body. Mark Simmons - Vice-chair - Mark works as a lawyer, and is our newest Governor. He is committed to ensuring that Stebon continues to thrive as a place of educational excellence, social development and community advancement.
We believe that a school that serves pupils needs to listen to & respond to those pupils & more importantly to give them the power to do things & make changes. The School Council has been running for several years now & with the help of committed staff has taken great strides in developing pupil voice through the whole school.
