Course is aimed at any member of staff who is required to become a qualified First Aider in their workplace, such as buildings, offices, schools and factories.
Did you know that it's a legal obligation for employers and landlords to provide a fire safety risk assessment, and to ensure it is up to date. To comply with legal duties under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, we regularly undertake fire risk assessments in a wide variety of fields.
In a recent survey by the Fire Door Inspection Scheme (FDIS), 61% of doors inspected had intumescent or smoke seals either missing or faulty, whilst 34% had excessive gaps between the door and the frame. Both faults could prove fatal in the event of fire. BS 8214: 2008 recommends that door leaves and frames are checked at six-monthly intervals for superficial damage, structural damage and excessive bowing or deformation.
In the case of physical skills courses it is the employer's responsibility to ensure that candidates are free from any condition which would affect their capability. If the course is to be held in your own premises please ensure that there is sufficient space, light and seating, tables are not required for first aid courses.
