Bryan's career started in 1989 where he worked in the leisure industry for 21 years, towards the end of his leisure career Bryan taught first aid and lifeguard courses under the banner of Skills for Life, this then changed to My Skills for Life.He then left the leisure industry and joined Wiltshire Fire & Rescue Service (WF&RS) as a Health & Safety and Environmental Assistant Advisor.

We can cover events from Charity Runs to Marathons, local fetes to music festivals, Sprint Triathlons to Long Distance Triathlons, in fact if you have an event that requires Medical cover we can help.We pride ourselves on having knowledge of the events we cover and provide the necessary cover based on the recommendations set out by the relevant governing bodies, home office guidance and your own risk assessment.
This qualification is to benefit Learners by enabling them to attain the knowledge and practical competencies needed to deal with a range of prehospital emergency situations. The purpose of this qualification is to prepare Learners to be able to demonstrate the practical administration of safe, prompt, effective prehospital care in situations which can arise when providing emergency treatment and/or management.
This qualification is designed for managers and supervisors in any sector, and any organisation worldwide. They won't suddenly become safety experts - but they'll get up-to-speed on the practical actions they need to take, and gain the knowledge and tools to tackle the safety and health issues they're responsible for.
Paragraph 193 of the HSE publication "Managing Health and Safety in Swimming Pools" states - Whenever the pool is in use, a member of staff will need to be designated as "on call" to respond immediately to the alarm and deal with any emergency. It is essential that such staff are trained in pool rescue, CPR techniques and first aid.
Fire and Smoke does kill, it also devastates property both in the workplace and at home. With about 700 people killed and over 100,000 being injured in the UK per year (house and place of work) this can cost industry and society over 1,500 million in insurance claims. Employers and Employees need to know their legal obligation with regards to the Regulatory Reform Order (RRO) (Fire Safety 2005).
