Services
The Counting House Nurseries are a family run business and have been so since 2006. At that time, we started life as a quite small, single nursery and gradually we grew and developed into the group of 3 nurseries that you can read about on this website today. The three nurseries are located closely together, in fact within a 3-mile radius and are all known as The Counting House Nursery.
We are proud of our happy, professional team of Nursery Practitioners, all of whom have been chosen for their ability and commitment to care for and nurture young children. At The Counting House we ensure that our staff are well qualified in appropriate childcare qualifications as well as further qualifications including First Aid, Food Hygiene and Safeguarding.
Our 'Birstall' Nursery located on Smithies Moor Lane was the first in our group when we took ownership in 2006. Since then it has developed into a thriving, well attended and popular nursery with children and parents alike. Currently registered for 51 children in total, the converted Zion Chapel building has a warm & welcoming feel to it with our provision provided over two floors.
Less than two years after opening our first nursery, we took the opportunity to turn a struggling nursery in Heckmondwike into the fantastic, home-from-home nursery that you can see today. Extensive refurbishment and adaptations to the former detached house have seen The Counting House at Heckmondwike become a very inviting, friendly and well-resourced nursery to place your child.
This large, wonderfully appointed nursery can cater for up to 86 children, whilst our entirely separate and purpose-built Breakfast/After School & Holiday Club provision can accommodate 48 children. At one time the building was a well know local youth club. Separated over two floors it now provides the perfect nursery and school club environment for children ranging in ages from 0 - 11 years.
