The concept of the shop was born out of the frustration of trying to find a good range of high quality children's shoes, fitted by caring staff. Our aim is to provide you with a wide selection of shoes from our specially selected trusted brands.

The Shoe Zoo was established in 2006 in the lovely seaside town Torquay by Peter and Claire French. The concept of the shop was born out of frustration at trying to find a good range of quality children's shoes, fitted by caring staff for their first child. Their aim was to provide their customers with a wide selection of trusted brands of children's shoes in a child friendly environment.
The Shoe Zoo was first established in 2006. The dancewear section of our shop was very small at first but it became clear that there was a big demand for a more specialised dancewear department in our area. In 2014, The Shoe Zoo moved premises to a much bigger building which allowed us to expand our dancewear collection hugely and create a whole floor dedicated to dance.
Please call us on 01803 317588 to book as we like to allow plenty of time with each dancer and we don't want you to have a wasted journey if one of our pointe fitters isn't available. It is really helpful for our fitters if you wear ballet tights to your fitting. Convertible tights are best as we can have a good look at your feet.

Fantastic customer service every time we go to shoe zoo. Amazing knowledge, support and guidance when getting our dance essentials. They recently went above and beyond to help me get a pair of dance shoes that we needed. My only complaint - too many tempting things to buy in the shop 😁. Thanks Claire and team 👏🏻❤️

Fantastic customer service, after a mix up between pointes and demi pointes I was offered a full refund even though I had stitched ribbons on and my daughter was then re-fitted with pointes. Very knowledgeable and patient, really take the time to ensure the best fit offering advice and a personalised service.

DO NOT BUY FROM SHOEZOO, I bought a pair of shoes and the quality was horrible, how do a pair of soles on Nikes fall off after a few wears. They have a horrible return policy and small return window, and actually do not help with any issues. If I had bought these through a department store I would not have had any issues. Please be aware maybe this company sells poor quality products.

Worse experience ever do no I repeat do not order shoes from this place through Amazon paid $78.25 for a pair of shoes that was too big paid to have them returned only for back $44.90 was told they kept the rest for restocking fees and they do not return shipping cost really and the shoes was $58 and call customer services was on hold for over 30 minutes will never order from this place again
