Our family run bar and restaurant is one of Edinburgh's most famous public houses and one of the oldest. It's a quirky, popular bar known by most Edinburgh folk as 'The Canny's'. The Canny Man's has an outstanding reputation for service and can be found only yards away from The Lane's front door.

The Lane Hotel is situated in the exclusive Morningside area of Edinburgh. Our 11 stylish rooms are split across two Victorian Villas only yards apart, both have copious amounts of charm and history with many of the original features within the buildings having been restored. We stayed 2 nights in june 2021, the room is lovely and well decorated. And the bathroom is really good too. However, they lie about the parking (we had to call to book it but when we arrive we were told that it's a first come first serve basis and that it is shared with the restaurant so low availability). We had to pay to park our car in the street. As someone who chose this hotel for the convenience of a parking, i was really disapointed. The other downsides are the noises on the street (thin window), the view on other people's flats, no reception. Last but not least, there were stains on the

Stayed prior to our daughters wedding, the check in was flawless, Mark and his mother couldn't have been more helpful. The rooms , extremely comfortable and clean. We were free to come and go as we wished. We also ate in the Canny man pub and the food was excellent and well priced. We would be more than happy to stay here again and will be recommending it to our friends

A warm and personal welcome from the owner. A comforting acknowledgement od being expected. Offered a room on the ground floor when daunted at the prospect of a single flight of stairs; realising my original room was the better room. Greeted as a valued client at dinner by both management and staff. Not what you get in the bigger hotels unless you're well-known or monied. Cannot speak highly enough of the place.

Couldn’t recommend more this place. Cosy, clean,quiet, and beautifully decorated rooms, with all the amenities you can expect without having to ask a single thing. The staff is so nice you fell like you are being welcomed to their own house. And when you think there is nothing more to say, they surprise you with a snack room, and the “Canny man” their pub where you can enjoy a full range of drinks with the most wonderful bartenders. Hope to be back soon!

Had the most incredible stay at the lane this weekend for my birthday! Our room was absolutely stunning and humongous! My partner and I didn't want to leave!! Both the bath and shower were so relaxing and such a welcome sight after a wet day exploring the city. The room was absolutely spotless and the bed was very comfortable! The staff were so friendly and it felt like enough couldn't be done for us! The bus routes were very handy and there was some lovely cafes very near by and a short walk to shops and other restaurants. Absolutely cannot wait to return, thank you so much Mark and Team!

This is not really a hotel. It's a building similar to a guest house and, if I'm not mistaken, it has 5 rooms.
We stayed here from the 30th of May to the 1st of June (we booked 2 nights). When we arrived we immediately realized that the place had no office (you have to go to the pub at the corner to check in). The main door has an electronic lock so if you are in rooms 1 or 2 you'll hear a bunch of opening/beeping early in the morning and late at night. Luckily, we were in the "Champagne room" which is fairly far away from the main door (still, I could hear all the beeping

We had the most amazing night away at the Lane Boutique Hotel. Our room was sumptuous and the whole hotel has an air of calm and relaxation. We had a wonderful tea tray with everything you could want for a night away and the room and bathroom were spotless. The Canny Man's downstairs is an exceptional, eclectic pub and wonderful to pop down and have a drink in before we went out for dinner. We are already planning our next visit and cannot recommend it highly enough!
