Mentone Hotel
Founded in 1972, and owned and managed by the same family since, the boutique Mentone Hotel is situated on the very picturesque Cartwright Gardens. We occupy three townhouses on the Georgian crescent and our accommodation is arranged over five levels. Because the townhouses are Grade ll listed, it is worth noting that we do not have lifts (elevators).

Recently refurbished, our 40 rooms are all en-suite and very stylish with all amenities at your finger tips! Breakfast is included in the price of your stay with us, and for lunch and dinner, we are sure you will be tempted by the many cafes, bistros, pubs and restaurants in the area offering very diverse English and international cuisine to suit all tastes and budgets.

Spotlessly clean, comfortable beds, staff were friendly and helpful. Substantial breakfast was an added bonus and set us up for the day. Good quiet location but close enough for train stations and underground. I've always been reluctant to go to London as our previous experience of affordable accommodation has been poor. Now we have found this little gem we will definitely be returning. Thank you so much for your hospitality.

Beautiful location, nice front room, pretty Christmas decorations....but.....
The woman at the front desk was rude, impatient and begrudgingly helpful. Only one towel in each room, even though we were booked for two adults. No heat in the rooms. If the staff had been happy to help, it wouldn't have been a big deal, but they weren't. 😬 There were many stairs to drag our luggage up and no numbers on most of the rooms, so we had to guess and keep climbing up and down to find our rooms.
The next morning the breakfast was cold, not welcoming and we were rushed out.
I wouldn't stay there again

The single rooms are 2x2 meters. Really cramped. The shower in the room 27 was a huge design fail unless you are not taller than 1.5 m. Other then that its fine

This hotel is alright. The location is close to the tube and within walking distance to Marylebone or Covent Garden (20 minutes) .
The double room was quite big but the single room I stayed in was very small and the fire alarm went off at night, hours after I had a shower.
They later fixed it so it was fine.
The breakfast was quite good They hot food, toast and cereal.

Good basic place to stay close to King's Cross, a little on the small side, cleanliness is good and we were greeted by a very friendly lady on reception, however there are a few issues that need attention, our room was on the top floor, there are no lifts and access to our room was by a small staircase which wasn't easy to use, if we were pensions this would have been a big issue, this should be mentioned on the booking, the door closing dampers were no good so a lot of banging doors, an easy fix, we only had one plug socket in the whole room where the kettle was which isn't great, the breakfast

A very competitively priced offering close to many of London's attractions. The staff were helpful, the breakfast buffet was satisfying and the room was serviced daily. The bedroom was small as was the ensuite but it was functional. I will stay here again and I would recommend it to other visitors who want to avoid extortionate rates in other hotels.

The room including the small bathroom was very clean. The bed was comfortable. Breakfast was excellent and staff pleasant. The location was a real surprise - a delightful crescent of - I would think- Georgian town houses. Don’t know what more anyone could expect from an inexpensive hotel. Recommended!

Lovely leafy location, nice and quite, but with a local vibrant community, with bars, cafes and pubs. Rooms are perfect and clean and airy. All the staff were friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was hot and fresh and good quality, and plenty of it. An absolute gem of a hotel, we are now planning a return. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Really nice hotel. Room was clean and ready way before check-in time. Room was on top of the building and it was super hot during heatwave. Not that large as pictures on the web but double bed rooms looks as on the web. Busy building site behind hotel. In fairness, it was a little bit annoying. Simple cooked breakfast, nothing special but fairly good food in comparison to other hotels in similar price range. Dining area would be too small for busy days. Overall definitively recommend. Localisation also great. Super connections with rest of the London day and night time.
