Lindrick is one of Britain's finest inland golf courses, providing an excellent challenge to golfers of all abilities at any time of the year. The course, which is always in first class condition, is a mixture of heathland and moorland meaning you will find Silver Birch, and Gorse lining the fairways of our picturesque golf course.
Lindrick will always be remembered because it was here that Great Britain and Ireland beat the USA to win the the 1957 Ryder Cup after a gap of 24 years. The Cup remained firmly in the grasp of the USA after until 1985 when Europe won at the Belfry. The last course to host a GB&I victory, in 1957, Lindrick continues to be recognised as one of the great courses in British golf.

Later that month, it was agreed that the course should be sited on Lindrick Common and after consulting 'Old' Tom Morris the first 9 holes course was created. It was won by William Jessop with a gross score of 74, less full handicap allowance of 45, giving a net score of 29. The course established a high reputation in the early years of the 20th century.
Lindrick is listed in the England's Top 100 golf courses and yet provides an excellent test for golfers of all standards. With fast and firm greens, strategic bunkering and gorse-lined fairways, Lindrick is a course you will have to play extremely well to conquer but you will never tire of trying. A major strength of the course is the winter playing conditions which are outstanding, with only the most severe frost or snow known to suspend play.
An elevated tee offers a full view of the opening hole, but being situated next to the pro shop means your tee shot is usually to an audience. A deep bunker on the left and gorse to the right of the fairway make it a tough opening hole, particularly into a prevailing wind. Play your drive to favour the right side of the fairway to open up the green for your second shot.
Locker rooms are provided for all players, so that changing to and from course attire and footwear in the car park in not acceptable. Denim jeans, training shoes, and collarless shirts are not permitted, and socks are to be worn at all times. Although knee socks worn with tailored shorts are preferred, players may also wear predominantly white or light coloured ankle length socks.

Stunning course. Some really great holes. Challenging greens. Slightly blighted by the road but you can’t have everything. Sadly the day we played the kitchen was closed and we couldn’t get lunch however they took pity on us and made us up a massive platter of sandwiches. Lovely club house. Will return
