Square Roots is the cafe in the heart of Keith. For your morning caffeine hit, a tasty bite, or a leisurely meal; we offer great coffee, good food and a warm welcome to all. Run by a local couple, the emphasis is firmly on quality produce, freshly prepared and presented with care. We work closely with local farmers and producers, creating a range of dishes inspired by traditional farmhouse cooking with an occasional twist.
Heading North, follow the A96 into Keith and take a left turning up Reidhaven Square (sign posted town centre). As you travel up the square you will see Square Roots on the right hand side just off the roundabout.

Services
In a small community, it's important to support other independent businesses. Luckily Moray is blessed with some of the country's finest food and drink producers, so there's no compromise on quality. Feel free to ask us who we use when you visit and we will let you know all about our current local produce and our relationships with the suppliers.
After years of visiting coffee shops, we soon noticed that anyone can make a coffee, but only a few can make a good one! Starting off as complete coffee novices, with only our love of the brew as inspiration, we embarked on a number of courses, voluntary work and plenty of practice at home.
Purchasing the coffee machine almost a year before Square Roots opened, we quite literally set up shop in our garage, practicing pulling coffee shots and steaming milk repeatedly until we nailed it.After learning the tricks of the trade, we can now tell the difference between a bad latte and a quality one, and would never want to provide anything but the best for our customers.

Nice little homely type cafe, accessible with room between the tables for getting through as well. There is also limited seating outside. The coffee was lovely and the food surpassed what we had anticipated. The portions were reasonable as well. We did not use the toilet facilities so cannot comment on them. The service was very good, the waitress ensured we were catered to as needed.
The reason for 4 and not t stars was the wait we had, which for me, on a hard seat without sufficient padding, became particularly painful as the wait lengthened. I had to take extra pain killers because of it. Otherwise

Nice cafe, nice food, good coffee. Seating outside as well as in, so if you have a canine companion, you can sit there. It is accessible with enough room for ambulant people or wheelchair users to access cafe and tables without difficulty. Would have gladly awarded 5 stars, which I don't do often, but the time it took for the food to arrive after ordering was just too long and when junior is with you, boredom sets in, behavior deteriorates and adults get irate. Perhaps it was just on the day we were there though. Apart from that, definitely recommended.
