I'm Steven Thompson and I'd like to welcome you to Pets Arcadia and Aquatics. The business started in 1937 when my Grandparents, Andy and Kath borrowed Five Pounds and opened a store in Dover, Kent to start selling Pets and Livestock products. The business was a success and in 1938 Andy and Kath moved to a larger shop on Dover High Street.
The shop attracted customers from all walks of life including the playwright and actor Noel Coward who used to drive over from his house in nearby St Margaret's to buy food for his birds! Through hard work and determination, Andy and Kath managed to keep their business afloat during the Second World War when everything, including animal food, was rationed.

After being ill advised by pets at home and a friend recommended this lovely pet shop! We brought more fish for our tank! Lovely colours very happy fish we brought them yesterday and we are very happy to say they are all still alive and very happy 😊 thank you Steve! We will be coming back!!!! 🙌

Please do not shop here! We were only here for 15 minutes, however we will be happy to never return. Upon first look we could already see the dissapointing, deteriorating state of the tanks these fish were locked up in, all of them with green, murky water, rusty heaters and next to no decoration or stimulation. At closer inspection, we could see many of the fish in these tanks were either dying or long dead and had not yet been removed. Aside from the fish, we also noticed what was probably 8-10 budgies in a single cramped, empty cage and below that well over a dozen mice in a single cage, clearly
