We sell high quality affordable products from award winning shoe manufacturers, but it's not just shoes we sell. We also sell scarves, jewellery, handbags, purses, wallets and other accessories. Amanda the owner is a member of the Society of Shoe Fitters and was nominated for two awards at the Footwear Industry Awards 2019, winning New Independent Footwear Retailer of the Year.
There is no substitute to having your shoes correctly fitted, allowing a professional to assess the right style, size, fitting, who will observe/assess any problem that may possibly be arising, and giving you good advice - free! A qualified shoe fitter will often look at the wear pattern on your shoes to see if your gait pattern is irregular and may suggest how they can help, or refer you to a Podiatrist/Orthotist.
Amanda and her team always go above and beyond for their customers. As the owner of a local Podiatry business we often refer patients who need a specialist fitting for the purpose of ensuring their orthotics fit. Amanda always delivers on finding stylish but accommodating footwear that meets our patients needs.

An off chance visit to this shop last year was made with little expectation of finding suitable shoes in a small shop in Portchester. How wrong I was. I was met by a very enthusiastic lady with excellent knowledge as to her stock and customer requirements. It did not take long for her to produce shoes which have proved to be some of the most comfortable that I have worn.Today when passing the shop my wife noticed an excellent choice of sandals, many at sale price. Excellent service from the proprietor: Amanda. The hospital podiatrist recommended a particular style of shoes for mum. I was initially going to order them online and direct and used the measuring chart from the catalogue. However decided to visit an official and local stockist to try them on and make sure. Thankfully we did this and avoided a lot of hassle by going to Solent Shoes. Amanda measured mum’s feet properly and we found they were different to my DIY measuring efforts and ordered them in. Visited Solent shoes today with my father who had declared he could not leave the house anymore as he no longer had any shoes that fitted him after a foot injury. He had painfully visited 4 shoe shops which all could not find a pair to fit.
After a quick consultation & measure of my Dads feet, Amanda found him a wider fitting shoes which fitted instantly. To my amazement my Dad literally danced around the store in his new shoes.
The service given by Amanda at solent shoes was truly a 10 out of 10.

Normally, as an 80+ male bachelor, shopping is usually akin to a trip to the dentist, but this little gem of a shop is a rare exception.
For diabetics, well-fitting shoes are vital.
This is a marvellous independent shoe shop that deserves to prosper.
The owner clearly knows her onions (and feet) with skills, knowledge and customer focus so rarely found in High Street shoe shops.
I've discovered a treasure trove after years of fumbling around blindly. Looking forward to less painful feet in the coming summer.

I cannot recommend solent shoes and Amanda enough! What a fantastic service, my mum was advised by her physio to get some better shoes, Amanda went out of her way to help us, all through messages. she sent photos and videos and even went up visit my mum with a selection of shoes for her to try, which was invaluable! Mum Was able to try on a few pairs and choose a nice pair of trainer type shoe, which the physio was very impressed with! Thank you again Amanda for helping 😊😊😊

A treasure trove of scarves, bags, purses and shoes!
I went there seeking winter boots to alleviate ongoing foot pain. Amanda was welcoming, helpful and patient and I felt under no pressure to purchase. ( although I did because the boots she advised I try on bought immediate relief!)
I would definitely recommend and am looking forward to treating myself to a pair (or two) of comfy summer shoes later in the year.
