We are an active and enthusiastic club on the East bank or the Tamar just South of the Tamar Bridge. We have lively and well supported yacht, dinghy and cadet sections with yachts racing on Monday evenings in the season and dinghies on Wednesday evenings. Our cadet section sails on Friday evenings, some on dinghies provided by the club.
We are a recognised RYA training centre. During the year we have separate yacht and dinghy regattas, organised cruises and we have also hosted and hope that we can continue to host the annual Jester Challenge and the regional heat of the Honda Rib championship. In addition to the active sailing programme we have social events throughout the year including a regular quiz.

Services
The Tamar River Sailing Club welcomes prospective new members. If you would like to learn more about joining this friendly club, then please feel free to come along to the clubhouse and find out more about us. We are always open on a Wednesday and Friday evening (7-10pm) and this is usually a good time to meet up with other members and find out what we are about.
We have 60 club moorings lying downstream from the club house some four miles from Plymouth Sound. They are all fore and aft trot moorings and can accommodate boats up to 36ft. Moorings are subject to the club rules as well as those set out by the Harbour Authority and Plymouth City Council. When you become a mooring holder you will receive the full set of rules governing moorings.
The cadet training section is open to young people who are still in full time education. The club has four Topper dinghies, five Pico's, 3 RS Fevas, 2 Visions, 1 Vago and three Lasers. These are used to teach sailing and boat handling skills, and to introduce young people to racing in the club and local regattas.
The Club is an accredited RYA Training Centre for Dinghy and Powerboat courses on the water and occasional shorebased courses, for members of the Club, or other Port sailing clubs and partner voluntary organisations. RYA National Dinghy Scheme Levels 1 to 3, Seamanship Skills, Day Sailing, Sailing with Spinnakers.
I believe a large congratulations should go out to the Youth who participated in the regatta who exceeded everybody's expectations, notably in the laser class where two TRSC Cadets made the podium. The evident light winds may have dampened the weather, but failed to blow away the sailing spirit. We had 20 dinghies participate in this years regatta including visiting sailors from as far as Surrey!
