Due to this variety, Paignton runs a number of weekend Open Events, hosts many a National Championships. Don't worry, we aren't just a summer club; we like to send our sailors out in the winter months too, having dedicated summer and winter programmes prepared each season in plenty of time for you to plan your sailing calendar.
We race in the bay, normally about a mile from Paignton Harbour, every Sunday morning and in the summer every Wednesday evening as well. We have additional special interest races such as the "Orestone Race" and our "Round the Bay Race", enjoying the friendly club competition in practice for events such as POSH and PODD, when sailors from around the country, and even around the world, come and test our waters.

Services
At Paignton Sailing Club we welcome and encourage new members of all ages. Whether you are an individual or family, novice or expert, if you want to sail all year round or just want a temporary membership, we do our very best accommodate you. So why not Join Us? We all work closely to provide opportunities for budding sailors of all ages to enjoy the sea, developing sailing skills for both cruising and racing.
At Paignton Sailing Club you don't need to own your own boat to come sailing with us. We offer a boat hire service to our members, and have a variety of boats from single handed to double handed dinghies available. Charges do apply and boat hire is only available to fully qualified sailors within our scheduled sailing sessions.
Spaces are only allocated after pre-authorisation is obtained from our membership secretary. All spaces are allocated at the discretion of the PSC Committee. That PSC reserves the right to dispose of any craft or property in the PSC parking area, should parking or club membership fees remain unpaid.
As a volunteer run club, we require our members to help out and assist with our club activities. Whether that is on-water or off-water, your help is invaluable to the running of our club. We use DutyMan, an online, interactive and dynamic duty roster. Using this system allows you, the member, to log in and view the dates the Club needs support.
Paignton Sailing Club members sail variety of class, though we would always encourage members buying a new boat to join one of the larger fleets at the club. For single-handed sailing, the three main adult classes are Blaze, RS Aero and of course Laser (ILCA). For double handed dinghies, the bigger fleets are the 2000 and Fireball.
