Services
The Practice offers a comprehensive range of footcare treatments in a friendly, modern stylish environment, with full disabled access. In addition to Podiatry, the Practice also offers treatments by Sarah Pank, Registered Osteopath. We offer convenient opening hours Monday to Saturday, and are situated close to Regent Road car park and within walking distance of Altrincham Interchange.
More and more of us are now consulting podiatrists (formerly known as chiropodists); perhaps we're beginning to realise that the old saying "when your feet are sore, you're sore all over" has more than a ring of truth to it. We've certainly come to appreciate that our mobility, independence and quality of life are valuable assets that should not be taken for granted.
Biomechanics is the science concerned with the action of forces on the living body - think of it as the end result on our body of the way that we walk; if there is a problem or fault in one part, it may have a negative effect on another.
Our podiatrists can examine and evaluate the structure and function of your feet and legs by taking a series of measurements, and by watching how you walk; this can identify any faulty relationships between the structures and the movements within the foot and leg, and the causes of your symptoms.

Controlling, guiding, limiting and/or immobilizing an extremity, joint or body segment for a particular reason. To otherwise correct the shape and/or function of the body, to provide easier movement capability or reduce pain. One of the most important considerations when prescribing orthoses is to ensure that they fit into your shoes!
Dry thoroughly and then use a good quality foot file or a pumice stone. Do not over-rub, or you can make the feet tender. Finish by applying a good quality moisturising foot cream. Do not use acid based preparations for removing hard skin and corns, as these rely on burning the skin off, and can move whilst being worn, leading to damage of normal skin.

I've been going to this practice since it first opened and before that I used to go to Rachel when she was at Boots. Rachel is brilliant, there's never any pain when she has to deal with a chronic foot problem I have. Martin's great as well on the occasions when Rachel has not been available. Its a friendly and extremely professional practice. Altrincham is blessed having this surgery in the town centre.
