Robineau Patisserie

Although on the expensive side, Robineau café used to be a good place to meet for lunch or drinks and cakes with friends, but sadly they are no longer open as a cafe, now only offering pre booked afternoon tea at £22.95 person and cold takeaway food with a limited selection of hot drinks. They no longer serve hot chocolates, which is a shame because they were the best drink available, and only have tea or coffee to take away due to this being the only option for afternoon tea.
There are lots of options in the deli counter but unfortunately most of them need to be reheated in the oven, not great

Called yesterday to discuss what they had to offer to make a gift up for a grieving family. The lady was polite, informative and efficient.. I was literally blown away by her customer service skills. Went in this morning to get said gift and the owner and lady that served us were so helpful and friendly. This is now my favourite shop in the… world! Had to sample a ham and cheese croissant and a vanilla éclair while there (of course) and they were both out of this world. I will definately be back..very soon. The whole service from start to finish was exceptional to say the least. Thank

Thankyou very much for the gorgeous afternoon teas on 4th Feb for my daughters lockdown, social bubble, 23rd birthday. They were delicious, my favourite was the blackcurrant cheesecake. Everything was carefully packaged and arrived perfect. Will definitely recommend and be back again. 🍰☕🧁

Robineaus supplied us with a small selection of sandwiches, cakes and pastries plus one of their famous trifles for my Dads funeral. They were so well organised and with their help we did my Dad proud. Thank you Robineau ❤

Well I thought I would treat my wife to a takeout lunch sandwich,quiche and a piece of cake each. It came to over £22 for the both of us and may I say that the sandwiches and quiches were very mediocre but the cake was beautiful. So all in all very let down for what I thought would of been a nice treat for us.

Fabulous as always, really like the new layout, it is a great way to see everything on offer and the procedure felt very safe.

The food at Robineau is fantastic but their Christmas collection service is dreadful. We were stood waiting outside in the rain for the shop to open at 9am. Despite the queue they did not open on time and everyone was getting soaked. The collection service is poorly organised and extremely slow. Ordered should be prepackaged ready for you to collect at your allocated time. It should be an in and out service. Overall very disappointed in Robineau when we usually love it here.

The quality of the cakes lived up to expectation but the quality of the 'superior' chocolate is nothing special as it's grainy and underwhelming in flavor and does not justify the price tag as the staff member who served us was nice but her colleague seems to look you up and down making you feel un-welcome.

Firstly I should say about I am more of a greasy spoon kind of guy *.
Work colleague booked us in for a fancy afternoon.
Lovely decor, professional, friendly (not to mention pretty) waitresses, delicious cakes. To my eyes it all feels rather Parisienne in a good way.
So far all 5 Star.
But £7+ for a cup of tea and a slice cake. See above *
Above my pay grade. However, I can't mark it down for the price. Although out of my league I can confirm this is a high quality establishment. And it is busy and clearly working for it's target market. My work colleagues

Fantastic place to visit where you always seem to come out with more than you went in for. Excellent staff, service and cakes.

Just finished having Afternoon Tea with my wife and had a delicious time. Staff were excellent, polite, neat and the most importantly: leave you alone to enjoy yourself without being harassed every few minutes to ask if your food is okay. I've added quite a few photos and have to say that there would have been more but the food looked that delicious and I was hungry.....

Afternoon tea at Robineau is just fantastic! Great service and the food was perfect.
The savoury course had tasty sandwiches, plus the egg mayo was served on a half scone and the salmon in pastry rather than bread.. such good attention to detail.
The fruit scones were light as air and served with the option of jam or lemon curd.
The cakes were all delicious, moist fruit cake with a crunchy nutty topping, and the best bit.. the salted caramel indulgence!
Really good value at £19.95, served in their lovely tea room. We added a baby bottle of prosecco for £5.50.
I can't wait to go back! Best

The best tasting cakes and chocolate I've ever had! Pricey but definitely worth every penny and the staff are very friendly.

This is lovely patisserie in Cocketon village in Darlington. Despite being a small shop it is incredibly organised and staff are incredibly helpful and friendly.


As well as making wedding/celebration cakes to order they sell beautiful cakes and scones and fancy pastries. They are also chocolatiers and stock seasonally appropriate novelty items. Items are presented beautifully and therefore can be given as gifts or proudly taken to parties. The mince pies are Christmas were lovely, and I can highly recommend the almond macaroons and the trifle if you are looking for an easy sweet. Maybe not a
