Services
Please note that the aircraft listed here are those on public display, aircraft which are currently in deep storage or under restoration can be viewed on one of our regular workshop tour days as advertised in our events list. A Number of cockpits are open every day, but many more will be open on the 'Open Cockpits' Event weekends.
We have performed many restoration projects on our exhibits over the years from complete nut and bolt rebuilds to cosmetic overhauls and everything in between! Here is a selection of the projects we have completed and those that are in progress on site. While some of the ongoing projects are visible to the public, most are worked on inside the Workshop which isn't publicly accessible.
We are able to offer a wide range of options for educational visits covering a variety of ages and tailored to suit the National Curriculum area being studied. We have a number of rooms available, which can be set out to meet your requirements, for example a classroom layout or tables for practical activities.

Great museum! Loads to see and it’s not all 20ft behind a rope like some other museums. There’s cockpits open for visitors to sit in and pretend to fly and live out all your childhood dreams! The museum has a dedicated team of volunteers that have restored a number of the aircraft and cockpits on display to the highest standards and you’ll often see the volunteers working away on the multiple projects that the museum has ongoing like English Electric Lightning XP706, Vulcan XL388 and a collection of Canberra cockpits.

Due to the terrible weather we changed our plans and came across the Aircraft Museum and what a little gem!! The volunteers were lovely and talked away to us and my husband was in his element. We felt very safe with the one way system in place due to the covid pandemic and you were able to get into a few cockpits and just asked to sanitise the area you touched with the provider sanitiser and wipes. Would recommend and not expensive!

A brilliant visit by 3 of us including 2 members from the appleby frodingham railway preservation society. the special piece for us has to have been the United steels piper apache that at least once landed on the scunthorpe steelworks airstrip. being the steelworks that were based at. a wonderful day and well worth a visit

3rd Stocksbridge Beavers and Cubs had a brilliant time today at Doncaster Air Museum, they liked sitting in the different aircraft on the open cockpit day as well as dressing up as pilots. Exhibits both inside… and outside. Museum has a sit down place to have a coffee or biscuit excellent prices. Museum is staffed by volunteers who are very friendly and knowledgeable and on hand to answer any questions the children had. Admission price excellent value for money. More to this museum than meets the eye. One of South Yorkshires hidden gems

Popped in for the first time in years with a friend who had come up from the midlands. fab little museum, especially the falklands conflict helicopters in the main hangar. the lack of barriers around many of the aircraft is also a bonus for getting a propper in depth look around them. the cockpit section collection is also really well done.
