Services
We are a family run park of 3 generations (admittedly 9 year old twins Toby and Freya and 11 year old Max are young, but they are often about serving in the shop or emptying bins!) Owners Philip and Hazel turned what was once a derelict mill site into a caravan park.
Since opening in 1986 they have seen a wide range of tourism from fans of the BBC series Last of the Summer Wine (which was filmed several times on the park) to campers who just want to enjoy the outdoors and the great walking which the Holme Valley has to offer. After 12 years of teaching, daughter Naomi and husband Ben with their 3 children decided to move back to Holmfirth and join the family business.

In 2018 we introduced 4 Camping Cabins and 1 Glamping Cabin for guests to enjoy a glamping experience! New for 2021 we have Gingerbread Cabin (sleeps 2/4) and Fern Dome (sleeps 4/5) with a few extra luxuries! These cabins are perfect for those reluctant to sleep under canvas and prefer their home comforts or simply for those who just want to treat themselves to a little luxury on their outdoor holiday.
Our fantastic new award winning amenities block is tiled throughout with under floor heating, spacious showers, vanity area with hair dryers and baby changing facilities. We also have 3 large family bathrooms (of which one is provided with Gingerbread Cabin) which offer a touch of luxury and are available to hire daily.
Our pitches are quite varied and can be tucked away by the river, on the lakeside, amongst trees, or in the meadows - they're all individual and where possible we like to give a choice. We also have beautiful cabins available for a glamping experience! You can now book your pitch online! If you can't see exactly what you want, please call us as we have a couple of pitches we keep for offline bookings only.
Children should be given every opportunity to enjoy the outdoors, which is why we host Down to Earth Children's Outdoor Parties near Holmfirth. Our park, with the woodland, meadows and adventure play area provides a perfect base for children's outdoor parties.
We offer a wide range of activities and themes and we aim to be as flexible as possible so as provide the birthday boy or girl with the best outdoor birthday party and to suit the parents' budget! If it's just space you need we can leave you alone to create your own children's outdoor party or if you really are short for time we can lead the party, provide the invitations, food, party bags and even the cake.

Not a good place to camp after some rain. Good toilet facilities but beware the short timer on the lights and remember a torch at night in case they go off. The outdoor dish washing facility was a good idea except the hot water never happened.
There is a shop on site however I never used it so cannot comment.

Just spent 8 nights here. Loved it. I came as a kid and my brother pushed me in the pond 🤬 Managed to stay dry this time. Peaceful, clean site. Wildlife and staff very helpful and friendly, especially Linda who spent much of Tuesday afternoon with my daughter after our electric went off and we were both at work. Thank you 😘 We have already booked for 5 night at the end of January, with a pond pitch next time. Hopefully make it for a weekend before then. Will definitely be regulars 🙂

Recently went camping here for a few nights and had a fantastic time. Plenty of facilities available on site and wonderful friendly staff. Would highly recommend as this site is in a beautiful location and just outside holmfirth. There are some wonderful walks and interesting places to visit from here.

Just got back from a 5 night stay in the top field (Holly cabin & extra tent).
Really nice site, staff were great. We paid for a private family bathroom/shower/bath/toilet which was huge.
We will be back again and either stay in the Gingerbread House or camp on the bottom field.
Highly recommended.

A lovely place visited for a short break (2 nights).
A nice walk into Holmfirth, manageable for a 5 and 8 year old.
Places to eat and little walks to explore around the site.
Friendly and welcoming staff.
The site had a lovely Atmosphere and felt very relaxed: music, children playing. Quiet and peaceful at night.
A small play area for children to explore.
Clean facilities.

Really enjoyed our stay - loved the lake and ducks. Great location and facilities although often had to check a couple of cubicles before I found one with loo roll. Not a big problem tho so didn’t mention it to staff. Great for little kids. Ours were 17+ and they loved it too. Bit of on odd layout for our awning pitch as next door’s parking space was right next to our awning. We parked in front of our caravan but the guy next was a bit fussy and awkward. He also complained about our bbq - as he could smell it in his caravan. Obviously this is no reflection on the site - but we were slightly

Just had one week on the worst pitch ever , stuffed in a corner around the far side of the green pond. Very overgrown no sun can get through dark and depressing, you get caught on bramble at back of pitch and round electric bollard, all the caravan pitches are crammed in and dark. All grass growing through the gravel. Tent area is the best place to be in the open. Toilets both blocks need a deep clean with bleach used in all the grout , in showers and round the washbasin it is black. Only went in once in the old block , used my own as the showers were cold on the one occasion , i did report it to

Everything here seems well thought out from the covid safe check-in envelopes, the excellent facilities etc to the food van which I believe is a regular occurrence. It was wood fired pizza when I stayed.
Pitches flat and well marked out, toilets and showers excellent and clean. Lovely atmosphere. The glamping pods look cool too but I didn't stay in them.

Just stayed in sycamore cabin never been camping or glamping before but I am highly impressed. The cabin is equipped with everything you need and spotless, it is situated in absolutely beautiful surroundings. The site is amazing, peaceful and just what we needed. My daughter and I took our dog and enjoyed the many walks around the area we visited nearby pubs and also walked to Holmfirth.
Would definitely recommend this camping site and will be visiting again soon. The only suggestion I have is on the camping cabins, a gate on the decking area would be ideal for the ones that accept dogs so they

Love this place so much ...love being greeted by the ducks in a morning, spot of fishing by the pond £5 per day . My son caught his first fish yesterday, his face was a picture, literally feel like your in another little world. Toilets/showers are really clean and secure with keycode to get in. Highly recommend 👍🏼
