Greendale is a friendly and peaceful adults-only site welcoming lovely tranquil people and their caravans, motorhomes or tents. We are graded 5***** by Visit England. We have 12 beautiful pitches, all with hard-standing and electric hook-up. Our heated shower and toilet block is spotless. You can find essentials, snacks and local products in our shop.
We are a quiet, friendlly site and find that everybody respects each other, the environment and their campsite. Take a walk to Whissendine Windmill. If the sails are going round then you are sure to find Nigel there, and he will be happy to show you round. You can buy Windmill flour in our campsite shop too!

Services
Set in gorgeous Rutland, Greendale is a beautiful, small, quiet, adults-only, touring caravan & camping park. The campsite is set in rolling countryside and has beautiful views as far as the eye can see. A walk along our quiet lane will take you to Whissendine village with its cosy, dog-friendly pub, well stocked convenience store/post-office and a unique working windmill producing organic flours and porridge.
Greendale is easily found just off the A606 - three miles north of Oakham and five miles south of Melton Mowbray. Please follow these directions for the last part of your journey (not your sat-nav). Caravans and larger motorhomes need to approach from the A606 and not from Whissendine village (please don't get this wrong - you won't get through the gate).
All you need for a perfect break - including hardstanding pitches, hook-up, heated shower/toilet block, free wifi, a small heated swimming pool (in high-season) and a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. We also have a shop with essentials, local maps and information. Please do note that Greendale will not suit everybody.
Just a few tips if it's a last-minute getaway, or there are a few provisions you need to pick up on your way. If you're anything like us you'll think you have packed everything you need for your break - then on your way you'll remember that the chicken is still in the fridge and the dog food has been left behind!
Our facilities-block houses everything you need, including heated shower rooms and toilets, a shop, washing-up facilities, information-point, washing machine & tumble dryer. Our shop supplies local produce as well as snacks, ice-creams and essentials. Water-points, fire-points, chemical waste disposal and recycling areas are indicated on the map.

The best campsite I've ever stayed at - and there have been many. Full of flowers, pitches well laid out, all with their own picnic tables. Clean facilities and a small swimming pool and seating area which was particularly welcome in the early September heat. Thanks to the friendly owners. Hope to see you again soon.

This was our 3rd visit to Greendale and a fitting finale to 18 years of motor homing. Its comparatively new owners, Jackie and Alan continue to maintain the highest standards at this delightful site. We received a warm welcome and thoroughly enjoyed our week in this glorious part of Rutland. Thank you both!

We were more than happy with our short stay at Greendale and booked another 4 nights whilst there. Jacqui and Alan were very welcoming and helpful and went out of their way to make sure we had a very happy experience. It's a lovely, quiet, very pet friendly, Adult only site, and close to the village pub for a lovely meal. The small shop on site sells local produce and ice creams, and a big bonus was the Pool on site. So pleased we found you Greendale 👍

Our second time at this perfect little site and we're very pleased to say that the welcome and friendliness of the hosts has not changed with new owners Alan and Jaqi.
The lawns and flower beds are beautifully kept, it's like staying in a back garden of a country house!
This is one of those rare sites that are worth going to just for the site, never mind the area its in, which is itself worth seeing with several interesting towns a few miles away as well as Rutland Water.
We will be back as soon as we can get a pitch!

This is a beautiful hidden little site. So well kept and has great facilities. Received a warm welcome from Alan and Jaqi and given a great info pack on the area. The little outdoor swimming pool was an added bonus. Lots of places nearby for cycling and walking. Lovely pub a short walk away which served delicious food. Will definitely return at some point.
