Welcome to the Westgate Hotel, Oxford, a small friendly, family-run hotel where the aim is to make your stay as pleasant and comfortable as possible. Whether you are in Oxford for a day or a week, the Westgate Hotel is the ideal venue for your business or leisure trip. Set in the West of Oxford very close to the railway station it is only a ten minute walk to the hustle and bustle of the city centre or, if you are looking for peace and tranquillity, a two minute walk to the river Thames and the countryside.
Services
Although the hotel is dated, it was clean and run by a very friendly couple. The rooms and bathrooms were clean. We paid 109 for a twin room within 5 minutes walk of the centre of Oxford and that included parking on site and a very good continental breakfast served in the delightful garden/covered terrace.

Very expensive for what is offered. The room and some parts of the premises are outdated and would need serious refreshing (notably in the annexe where water is leaking through the ceiling in the entrance and where some heaters only work for 2 hours a day). The included breakfast is minimal: only coffee or tea, (overcooked) toasts, some cereals, yogurt and boiled eggs. The service depends on the staff's mood. For instance, the manager refused to help me with my luggages, for she was "busy on her phone".

Fab, friendly and well priced. I arrived early and was offered a cup of tea in the beautifull garden. The staff kept parking spaces for us and gave us restaurant recommendations. The bedrooms were basic but the beds were comfortable and it was only a 10 min walk into town so i wouldnt hesitate in staying again.

Place is near to City Centre, all within walking distance. Even to Westgate Shopping Mall. Just that we got put at their Annexe Building, so breakfast & check in / out is not too convenient. Breakfast staff is really friendly though. Shared/common bathroom at Annexe was horrible. Some other guest made a mess at the toilet, so you can imagine. No shampoo either.

Really close to the city centre, in a very quiet area/street. Nice bedroom where we had space. The bathroom was clean. The breakfast was good though they could offer a wider menu especially for people who don't like salted food in the morning. But lovely staff!
I largely recommend it for a nice weekend in Oxford!
