Welcome and thank you for your interest in my Psychotherapy and Counselling Service. I am a Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapist, who is very experienced in assisting people from a variety of backgrounds to address difficulties they are experiencing in their life. I offer help with issues ranging from depression and anxiety to abuse and the effects of trauma and dissociation.
Sometimes you might feel that life is just not working out as you had hoped it would, or that you are stuck in a way of living that is causing you stress and unhappiness. We can all end up feeling uncertain, insecure and lonely at times. Psychotherapy can provide a warm and empathic space in which to look at and gain and understanding of why we are experiencing difficulties and how we might begin to effect changes.

Services
I trained with the Northern Guild for Psychotherapy and I have Diplomas in both Integrative Psychotherapy and Therapeutic Counselling. I am registered with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). I also hold a Certificate in Couples Counselling and a Certificate in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT).
The group therapy I offer is open to people I work with, usually after some time spent in individual therapy. Group therapy offers a chance to experience and learn to understand our ways of relating to other people through the interactions and relationships in the group. We can gain insight into how and why people respond to us in the way they do and also to develop a better and more beneficial way of relating to other people.
What is the difference between counselling and psychotherapy? Generally, counselling is a short-term therapy which focuses on present day issues, while psychotherapy provides a longer-term approach for issues which arise from past experiences, often rooted in childhood or adolescence and which are causing difficulties in adult life.
