The Shanaz Restaurant is an Indian curry house in the heart of Truro. We have been serving communities around Cornwall with renowned Indian dishes for over 25 years. The restaurant was started by 3 brothers: Kamal, Karim and Jamal. We were enthusiastic and determined to make it work. With many years of experience between us in the restaurant trade, we decided it was time to make our mark on the ever-growing curry industry.
Now nestled amongst the foliage of Victoria Gardens and the overarching spires of Truro Cathedral, you will find our restaurant situated in a beautiful Georgian building. When the go-ahead was given for pubs and restaurants to open their doors for outdoor seating, many establishments across the country embraced this with open arms.

FOOD ALLERGIES: Please speak to our staff about the ingredients in your meal, when making your order. From the region of Sylhet in Bangladesh you have is a very traditional dish cooked in citrus known as Satkhora with the added spices of gram masala, dried crushed red chillies fresh coriander. Chicken fillet lightly floured and caramelised with cash nuts spring onions slices of garlic and tamarind for a sweet pungent flavour.
We are in a prominent location on the corner of Edward Street and Frances Street. There are large car parks nearby, with the closest one being at the Truro County Court also on Edward street a short minute walk from our venue. There is also street parking available around the Royal Cornwall museum which is also in close proximity to our establishment.

Pathetic food and bad service. Service was extremely bad. Waiter was very rude. And finally I can go anyplace as long as the food is good. However this was not the case. The city needs a good Indian restaurant. (Replying to your comment I was in truro on the 23 sept but I forgot to review you as I had such a bad experience and wanted to say something. I will share with Google proof that I was there. Seems like we all know how you get 4.6 stars now,by asking Google to remove comments u dont like )

We went here for our wedding anniversary and we were not disappointed.
We have eaten Indian food in many countries and this has to be one of the best!
The food was full of flavour with exquisite blends of herbs and spices,
Excellent service and lovely people to deal with!
We highly recommend this restaurant 👌 👍👍👍
We will definitely be back.

After visiting Cornwall on a holiday, my husband and I were searching for a nice restaurant to go for dinner. I came across the shanaz online and booked to go on a Wednesday evening. On arrival we were greeted… and promptly seated where our drinks orders were taken immediately. Our food orders were taken shortly after and all I can say is that the food was amazing! We didn’t know what to expect as the restaurant itself wasn’t overly busy but it was late on a Wednesday evening but the takeaway orders leaving the kitchen were constant! If we lived closer we would be visiting all

Shanaz is always our first choice for local Indian cuisine. A family run business with the sole focus of great food and fantastic customer service. They made our party feel very welcome and offered advice on some special vegetarian options. A great environment and fantastic portion sizes. You’ll see us again no doubt.

Very nice place to chill and have amazingly good food. Service was amazing and on top of everything. Food was really tasty and big menu with different choices of curries. My dish was a bit too salty, BUT I don't really use salt in my everyday life, so it's just my taste. Anyway it didn't stopped me from enjoying my food, it was still amazing. We are not locals, but if we come back to this area, then definitely will visit this place again.

After having a work colleague recommend this place I thought I would give it a try. Not had an Indian for a while so I was looking forward to this one. My first impressions from outside were good, well presented building that you could tell was very well looked after. Once entering the restaurant we were greeted by a very professional looking staff member that was well dressed and well spoken.
The table we were seated at was a little small for all 4 of us, but we mentioned this and was moved to a larger table right away. The inside of the restaurant was as nice looking as the outside with a modern

Massive Thankyou shanaz not only for another delicious takeaway but when I commented on a dish that looked yummy the chicken shom mulla, but I only eat prawns, they made me a dish of tiger prawn shom mulla and… it was delicious. Nice spicy and creamy full of flavour. Beautiful dish I would highly recommend. Thankyou so much for making it for me. You always go that extra mile to accommodate our families different tastes. Xx

First time visit. Great good, good range on the menu. I tried a chicken tikka vindaloo and I enjoyed every mouth full. Restaurant was also well presented and staff attentive enough without over fussing. Price were also sensible. My only suggestion perhaps was the restaurant itself was a little cold, but will definitely visit again. Thanks!

The Shanaz has a very good varied Indian menu either for eating in or taking away. It is very modern and light and airy inside, which makes it a nice place to eat. It is quite a popular place to eat and there are several rooms for eating in, meaning it can accommodate large numbers. You can book a table in advance or a take away. The service is always friendly and efficient. The take aways are generally ready when you get there. The food is always to a very high standard and the prices are quite competitive. I would highly recommend having a meal or take away here.
