At Bakewell Town & Community Trust we believe that the Town Hall is part of the community. That's why we are working hard to provide facilities and activities to suit a broad range of users. We offer a special reduced, community rate for local community groups and charities to ensure that we remain at the heart of Bakewell.
Bakewellians over a certain age are sure to remember our signature room, the venue for many a dance! The Bakewell Town Hall Assembly Room Theatre played a formative role in the past of many of our children, being the venue for the town's annual Pantomime and has, over recent years, become a popular choice for live performers with seating capacity of 168 (300 standing).
Our Council Chamber is our most romantic room. A popular choice for most of our weddings, this beautiful room is full of character, an airy space flooded with light. The walls could tell some stories! We can accommodate up to 24 wedding guests seated theatre-style, and 20 around our large and grand oak tables; the room is furnished in oak thoughout.
Our Court Room Gallery is our most popular and flexible space, seating up to 62 people. It has a small stage, ideal for solo performers. The room has an induction hearing loop, to benefit those wearing hearing aids. Situated on the ground floor, The Court Room Gallery houses occasional exhibitions by local artists.
The choice if you are a caterer, or are wanting to prepare or serve meals to a number of guests. A professional-standard catering kitchen, it has a 6 burner Lincat gas hob and oven, a large extraction unit, professional dishwasher, and a full range of appliances to prepare and serve all food and drinks.

Films and live showings of NT live almost monthly.. absolutely great opportunity.. saw nt live showing of one man 2 guvnors and fleabag live show here recently and loved it.. as a person who lives out in the sticks its nice not to have to drive a long way to reach Sheffield or Manchester for a bit of live theatre

I love the events here. Brilliant town centre location. Prices reasonable. A great venue in a historic building, cared for but not boutiqued. Relying on mainly volunteers the 'staffing' is occasionally disorganised but good humoured & helpful. It has a decent stage with kitchen & bar facilities. Keep a look out. Some surprisingly main stream entertainment appears here
