Alex began his career as an Apprentice Mechanical Engineer with Rolls Royce and accumulated 20 years' experience with them, laterally working as a Senior Development and Test Engineer on the Aero engines. He came to Bar knight as the Production Manager in 1998 and subsequently purchased the company in 2007.
Founded in Glasgow in 1910 Bar Knight Precision Engineers Ltd is one of the longest established independent Engineering companies based in Scotland. It was formed as the manufacturing arm of the Clyde Model dockyard with its first products being scaled model locomotives and steam engines.

At Bar knight we offer a complete Production Engineering Service. We can help take your initial ideas from inception through to final product manufacturing or on the opposite side we can Reverse Engineer existing parts that you are no longer able to source. Our team has built its reputation on finding appropriate tailor made solutions.
Our Manufacturing facility contains a mix of both CNC and Conventional Milling and Turning machines thus enabling us to compete competitively in all areas of Manufacturing from high volume precision parts to one-off bespoke items.
The CNC machines have the capability to produce complex components to very tight tolerances and our highly skilled workforce have a vast amount of experience in working with all types of materials from plastics through to exotic metals.Components with more intricate geometry can be economically produced by utilising our multi axis capabilities.
