Applicable to all licenced equestrian premises, by becoming an ABRS+ approved riding school, trekking centre or equestrian centre allows your clients to be satisfied that you offer the highest standards of instruction, and that the equines receive a high level of care. Being ABRS+ approved has many benefits for your riding establishment including membership of the EEA and professional development.

Becoming a certified or approved livery yard allows your clients to be satisfied that you offer the highest standards of care and welfare to your clients equines, that you meet best practice industry recommendations for the services you provide, and can help develop and promote your yard and vacancies through partnerships with the EEA and LiveryList, plus a whole host of other benefits.

Founded in 1954, The Association of British Riding Schools, Livery Yards and Equestrian Centres (Formerly The Association of British Riding Schools) is a registered charity and the UK's only organisation that focuses solely on supporting, representing and promoting professional proprietors of equestrian premises.
The ABRS+ is a national association dedicated to supporting riding schools (and other licensed riding establishments), livery yards and equestrian centres. As part of that, we support our member's clients too, whether they are learning to ride, hiring the facilities, or have their own horse on livery.
Jane is a Chartered Director and Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development and has worked over 30 years in global business, specialising in business and people transformation. Jane became Acting Chair of the ABRS+ in 2019, and the confirmed Chair in 2021. Jane is a regular speaker at professional forums, press contributor and qualified coach.
The ABRS+ has occasional vacancies for work within the administrative team, and also opportunities arising for our Board of Directors. The ABRS+ is seeking a part-time Membership Manager/ General Secretary who will work out of the ABRS+ Office in West Sussex.

The ABRS+ is the British Association of Riding Schools, Livery Yards and Equestrian Centres. Founded in 1954 as the Association of British Riding Schools, the ABRS+ runs Britain's longest-established Riding School Approval Scheme, representing hundreds of the best riding schools across the UK.

The ABRS promotes the participation of persons in the United Kingdom (both able-bodied and with any form of disability and of all ages) in healthy recreation in horse riding through education and in providing advice to riding schools in respect of regulation, welfare and safety issues.
