Eddie Wheeler and Laura Fly own and have run the Vale Stud for 18 years. Prior to that, they have managed riding schools and livery yards around the Horsham and Crawley areas. The Vale Stud is set in 25 acres of land and Eddie and Laura have another 90 acres to use for hacking. All of the teaching is done in an indoor school during the winter months and during the summer months, we offer a combination of school and field work.
All beginner riders are taken in private lessons and there are a selection of class lessons to progress to when you are ready. Children of 8 years and over are started off in half hour private lessons moving to half hour class lessons. We also run a Saturday club where children can stay for 2 and half hours and learn all aspects of stable management and have "hands on" sessions with the ponies, then have a one hour class lesson or hack.

Fantastic riding school with very willing and able horses. Hacking is available throughout the summer with absolutely no roadwork at all, making it very safe. All of the horses are forward going, with several of them having high levels of training from before they arrived at the school, so more experienced riders can learn half pass, shoulder in ect. However, this is also a good place to learn as the beginner horses are very well behaved, but without being at all slow, they are very forgiving and will do what you ask, however they are also very sensible.
