Set in an old Victorian Farmhouse with large mature grounds, Hooton Child Care is one of the few remaining independently - run childcare settings in the Chester / Wirral area. Founded back in 1989 by existing owners Mike and Helen Walter, Hooton Child Care has been providing professional, high quality childcare for children from birth to 11 years of age in a stimulating, caring, "home from home" environment.
The beautiful building retains many of its original features, with spacious rooms, giving it a special character with a solid, secure feel that some modern purpose built units can lack. Services
Due to the high demand of care for younger babies, we have recently re-opened our separate Owlet Room offering a quiet, warm and caring environment for babies starting from approximately 3 months to 18 months - depending on the childs individual needs and personal development. The ladies in charge of the Owlet Room are both mothers themselves and have both been strong assets to the Nursery for over 12 years.
This purpose built room is an extension to the rear of the main building, offering light, bright, warm, spacious accommodation for young children from 18 months to approx 3 years - again depending on the childs individual needs and development. The Little Owl room provides a Kitchen/food preparation area, separate changing & bathing facililites and direct access to both the soft play area of the main garden and the Tweenies private garden.
Our Wise Owls and Pre-School children follow a daily routine linked closely to the E.Y.F.S. Framework. This promotes an environment in which each Childs individual needs are met, and they can thrive in a friendly, loving atmosphere. The children's day begins with self registration, where they are encouraged to find their "Ladybird name" & stick it on the leaf at the entrance of the room.
Our out of school club caters for school children up to 11 years of age, and runs during school term time. Children are welcomed with toast and a drink before they head off to school. On their return in the afternoon, they are offered a filling snack (which they often enjoy helping to make) before deciding on how to spend the rest of the afternoon.
Our holiday play scheme is designed to give school children up to the age of 11 fun and excitement during all school holidays, where places can be booked on a full or part time basis. Although themes / topics are used as a base for many of the activities, the children are encouraged to put forward ideas for things that they would like to do - after all - it's their holiday!
