St Peters Vets
Due to the ongoing increase of new pet ownership and the national shortage of Vets and Vet Nurses, we have had to make the difficult decision to close our waiting list to new clients until further notice. This is to ensure we can continue to maintain our high level of care to our existing clients and patients.

We will be reviewing this monthly and once we have caught up with our already lengthy waiting list, we will reopen it again. St Peter's Vets is a dedicated small animal practice previously known as St Peter's Veterinary Group that was established over 60 years ago. St Peter's Vets has surgeries in Petersfield, Horndean, Liss and Farlington in Hampshire.
Services
Friends from vet school days and back from service with the Royal Army Veterinary Corps during WW11, Richard Hartley and Charles Foden founded St Peter's Vets in Petersfield in 1947. The practice became quickly established and further vets were recruited to treat predominantly horses and farm animals in the area around Petersfield.
A consultation with a veterinary nurse can be booked at our Petersfield, Horndean and Farlington surgeries. There are no nurse clinics held at our Liss surgery. Our nurses will attempt to give any tablet or application to your pet in the surgery - just let us know what they need. Our nurses will weigh your pet and discuss current diet, exercise and provide advice on how to reduce their weight safely and how to maintain a healthy weight.
Having a microchip implanted by one of our veterinary surgeons or nurses is quick and simple and ensures that should the worst happen and your pet goes missing, you have the best chance of being reunited with them. You only need to have the microchip implanted once as it should last for the lifetime of your pet.
For many years now, since the introduction of the Pet Travel Scheme, travelling abroad with your pet has been relatively simple. Great Britain has become a Part 2 Listed Status under the EU Pet Travel Scheme. Which means if you wish to travel into and around the EU including travel from the UK to Northern Island you will need an Animal Health Certificate (AHC) issued in the UK.
Female dog neutering; the spay operation perfomed by laparoscopy; a new "keyhole" approach. For many years, vets have recommended that, unless there are plans to breed from her, a female dog should be neutered at a young age to remove the risk of some diseases. For this reason vets regularly perform the spay operation on female dogs.

I had to take my dog Molly to the Petersfield branch. On 23rd December. She had to stay in overnight due to a stroke. The vets were amazing as always but a special thank you to Abi and Ed for taking such good care of Molly and keeping me updated on her health. Xx

Once again thank you everybody who looked after Dexter last week for his hospital stay and his return short stay. He was looked after so well and I was kept informed several times a day on his progress. Pleased to say he is now restored to his usual happy self.

Our Cat Billy had an RTA in April and stayed in the hospital for 5 days. It was a bit touch and go at first but he returned home for cage rest and an uncertain future. We feared he night never have half the life he once had, but thanks to the exceptional care and professionalism of the team at Petersfield, Six months later and he is all but back to his former self. We can't thank you enough!

I've taken my dog to St Peters for the last 14 years. They are the most attentive, caring vets you could wish for. Totally dedicated to the welfare of the animal. I trust them implicitly with the health and wellbeing of my dog. Particular credit to Tristan. Thank you!

We had an appointment, waited outside and eventually went in. The two receptionists were engaged in social conversation, not work related, then eventually acknowledged us. We then sat for another 15 minutes, 25 minutes later than our scheduled appointment. The receptionists need to be much more customer aware. The clinical service was thankfully excellent. When it came to paying one receptionist walked out, presumably the end of her shift, it took 10 minutes to pay the bill. Awful service.
