KMR Audio was founded in 2003 by a small team of audio bods, all obsessed with music and the recording process. The intention from the beginning with KMR was to be a home for high-end studio equipment; anything that we thought was a genuinely good piece of recording gear that could prove useful in a session (didn't matter how much it was or who made it) we wanted to make available to our customers.

A small revolution happened a few years ago when API Audio decided to open up their very popular 500 series format to the industry. Whilst the 500 series in concept is actually taken directly from their console line, this has led to, not quite a replacement, but certainly an augmentation from pure rack processors to power supply-less modules.
How you convert that extremely low-level microphone signal upwards to get it into your recording gear is one of the most crucial aspects of recording, period. Need a 500 Series Rack preamp? These guys really know their stuff! Always extremely professional on the phone and go above and beyond to help no matter what your budget is! Tom spent a couple of hours on the phone with me to give me a crash course in modular synths as I am a complete beginner in this field, I haven't committed to a purchase yet but he gave me lots to think about! Excellent! I'm only just getting into production, been a guitarist for 30 years but turning my hand to something new. Unit I ordered had been discontinued, but they offered me an excellent alternative package which I'm really excited about; quick and clear communication and updates, and really just couldn't fault the service so far. Five stars fully deserved; would recommend.

KMR audio are surely a pretty good dealer of audio gear in the UK. This is why I have spent thousands of pounds at their shop. Although a small costumer (compared to big studios) i like to think that i have been a loyal one , as i did purchase stuff for a few years consecutively and had the intention to do so for years to come. Unfortunately, in my last purchase the costumer service - although well intended - didn't really solve the problems that i had. Those problems were a result of misrepresentation of specific products i had purchased based on their advice, which i asked for. I ended up selling

I have had great experiences dealing with, and buying from KMR. I have been given lots of time and free advice by phone, an hour or more trying various large diaphragm vocal mics instore, in their excellent demo room, plus great advice on how to mic and record a grand piano in a less than ideal space. Everything has arrived on time and performed as promised. I cannot praise them highly enough, and recommend them wholeheartedly. Most of my dealings have been with Stefan, but all the staff are genuinely interested in serving you well. FIVE STARS!
