RAK Studios is one of the UK's premier recording studios. Founded in 1976, the studio has hosted a wealth of talent over the years and is the first choice studio for anyone wanting to ensure their project excels. We have four studios at RAK, all of which boast classic, state-of-the-art recording equipment.
Our dedicated engineers and assistants have a wealth of experience working across all genres of music. Unusually for a recording studio, we have in-house accommodation for up to six people, plus catering facilities and off-street parking for up to 10 vehicles.

Services
RAK Studios was founded in 1976 by the legendary record producer Mickie Most, who was known for his hits with the Animals, Jeff Beck, Donovan, Suzi Quatro and Kim Wilde, among others. He was also a recording artist, record label boss and TV producer. At 17, he formed his first band, Mickie Hayes and the Most.
Studio 1 is a large studio with sufficient space for up to 35 musicians and is enhanced by a plentiful supply of natural light. Studio 2 has space for up to 7 musicians, and is an ideal facility for projects that have to operate within tighter budgets. Studio 3 contains a recently installed vintage Neve VRP Legend console 60 channels (48 buss) with flying fader automation.
The St Johns Wood studios have played host to an enormous number of diverse and exciting recording artists and producers over the 35 years its doors have been open. Each studio has its own character and we choose rooms depending on the sound we want for pianos, drums or strings. The engineers and assistants have become some of our go-to team and they always try to up the game each time we start a new session.

On top of the catalogue of classic records made there, many of the best sounding modern records are coming out of Rak too. Amazing engineers, two vintage API desks as well as Neve and SSL consoles, tons of amazing old mics and outboard, the best drum room in the UK (Studio 1) and the most warm and friendly atmosphere you could wish for. Many producers try it once and won't work anywhere else! Love it!
