I founded Ian Walker Family Law and Mediation Solicitors in 2012, I qualified as a solicitor in 1992 by 2012 I had spent 20 years working in a variety of solicitors practices. These varied from a multi-office High Street practice to regional corporate law firm heavyweights, as well as various points in between.
I founded Ian Walker Family Law and Mediation Solicitors from scratch in 2012. We are now one of the South West leading Family Law Solicitors practices with an exceptionally experienced team. We hold the Law Society Lexcel Accreditation for excellence in Legal Practice. In 2020 we were named the boutique law firm of the year (11+ employees) at the Modern Law Awards 2020.
Family disputes/problems are often made more complicated because those involved can make bad decisions based on emotion. As experienced specialists we can assist our clients in a clear headed way to make better decisions. We help our clients to make best use of the most appropriate dispute resolution option for their situation.
We have one of the largest and most experienced teams of divorce specialist solicitors and mediators in the South-West. Divorce can be a very emotive and difficult time, not just for the couple, but also for their children and other family members. Couples invariably separate because they are not getting on with each other or because they have grown apart.
We firmly believe in being transparent about how we charge and have always published our hourly rates on our website. We also offer fixed fees - but every case is different - so fixed fees are bespoke to the individual client. When we redesigned our website in the summer of 2020, we included the title divorce costs - as a page to be added.

As someone who is a carer to a disabled partner, with low income. They have no option to pay a bill at what you can afford over a payment period. So if you have a solicitor bill of £1K+ in that month, you are required to pay that amount in full at the end of that calendar month.
So for this reason, I cannot recommend them.
