Life Into Balance
Lisa Colby, I am a Lowestoft based, registered Senior Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance but just as importantly I love what I do. Yoga opened up possibilities for me that I would never have imagined 20 yrs ago, it changed my attitudes, my perceptions, my direction, the way I think, move and breathe.

I am passionate about my practice, my teaching & my role in helping others find their way to the heart of yoga, to what can be a life altering & awakening experience.I teach in a spiritual but down to earth way, encouraging a sense of balance and clarity through embodied awareness. I never tire of observing the relationships between our breath and our physical and emotional states, because of this I teach a very breath centered practice.
Services
Through regular and consistent practice of Yoga, accompanied by a healthy diet and regular sleep, harmony of body, breath and mind can be achieved. Challenges such as inflexibility, poor breathing habits, stress management, poor concentration and even depression can be addressed and over time will become less obstructive to inner development.
Foundation Classes are for everyone - the perfect place for beginners to start, wonderful for anyone working with an injury & requiring a slower pace and of course for advanced students that want to take time to revisit the precious work of basics and alignment.

Often seasoned students will revisit here as we understand that the more advanced asanas are rooted in the fundamental ones & we experience the joy of the simplicity of classical yoga asana.Less time will be spent in an open level class explaining the basics but variations will be offered to suit all levels.
I am a Senior Yoga Alliance registered teacher & have been teaching for more than 10 years, practicing for almost 20 years, first in the absence of a teacher, from books and dvds. I recall the first book, a gift from a friend (Thankyou Caz) who clearly recognized my need to chill out & find a way to deal with my often out of control anxiety.
As a yogi a big part of my practice has been self study and has led me to really contemplate the 8 limbs, the first aspect of the first limb, more than any other 'Ahimsa' (non harming) holds enormous depth and raises an abundance of questions for me, how do we even begin to live in our world without doing harm.
This session, focused around the idea of letting go of what is no longer nourishing, good or healthy for us is inspired particularly by a courageous young woman I am lucky enough to know & love, but also by my own struggles to let go of the idea that I can do everything & keep everybody happy.

We all have ideas, habits, anger or attachments that we would be healthier without, this is an opportunity to contemplate and release them, along with our tensions and our stresses. This session is focused around the idea of planting seeds of intention, of awakening intuition & bringing what is nourishing, inspiring and fulfilling into our lives.

I came to Life into Balance at a real cross roads in my life, when I could either continue to fall apart or try to build myself back up again from within. Thanks to Lisa's beautiful and thought provoking sessions I have fallen completely in love with yoga and have a practise that is one of the most cherished and nourishing parts of my life. The lessons and messages in class are something that I use to carry me through life as a parent carer with greater resilience and I cannot recommend LIB yoga enough!

As a newbie to yoga I was slightly concerned that the yoga class which Lisa held at the Fitness 2000 gym would be too advanced for a new beginner like me - but I was pleasantly surprised.
Lisa is a highly experienced and very knowledgeable yoga teacher and clearly explains the various alternative yoga postures so I could work at my own pace and have a rest-break when I wanted to. The class is also full of friendly people who all enjoy their yoga practice with Lisa. Some have been attending the same class for years now - as her yoga class and yoga instruction is so good!

Lisa is excellent at teaching yoga at all levels from beginners to very advanced. I have been joining her at various classes for many years now at a level for people of a more mature age and wish to keep supple and relaxed. I would recommend anyone to give it a try and find a level which suits your ability.

I have attended Lisa's classes and workshops on a regular basis for around 10 years now and am a regular attendee on her retreats, which are also fantastic. I currently enjoy a mixture of strong and restorative classes. Lisa encourages every student to work at their own pace, and offers alternatives to each posture. Although I am not lucky enough… to be one of those typical bendy and flexible people, I can say that I have definitely seen an improvement in both. I have now come to realise however that the most important thing in yoga is that if you leave with a clear and peaceful mind that

Lisa's yoga has transformed me and my life. I was introduced to the classes by a friend. Lisa has the softest calming voice, she explains everything perfectly, even the feelings you should experience. Yoga has massively improved my posture, calmed my restless mind and strengthen my body. I no longer suffer with sciatic pain, my joints and hips don't click as much and my low back pain has nearly gone. I can now get out of bed without being in pain. I can't thank you enough Lisa, only wish I had tried it sooner.

What can I say? Have done yoga on and off for around 7 years but Lisas classes are by far the most enjoyable and enlightening I have ever attended. The classes allow you to explore yoga and are non judgemental, with Lisa being one of the most experienced and approachable teachers I have ever worked with. Recently she has been beyond helpful when I discovered I was pregnant and wanted to continue with yoga classes, she has helped me taylor my practice to accommodate this and has made the whole experience a pleasure. Would highly recommend!

Tried a few different yoga classes but love Lisa's holistic approach where it isn't just all about the asana. She offers a good variation in classes and there is something to suit everyone, whether you are looking to relax, work on injuries or to build strength and flexibility.

Having lived with back pain for most of my adult life I discovered Yoga. Lisa is undoubtedly one of the nicest people I have ever met and her classes are warm, welcoming, educational and entertaining. She can adapt any class to suit any ability. Lisa has changed my life. From being in pain on a daily basis to having no pain and being able to work and drive long distances and I will always be grateful.
